What i'm looking for: Round brilliant Ideal cut, 0.8 -0.9c, , VS1, Triple E. Budget max 4.5k for stone only

Having done research I've been using these characteristics from beyondthe4cs -
Table % 54.0% to 57.0%
Depth % 61.0% to 62.5%
Crown Angle 34.0° to 35.0°
Pavilion Angle 40.6° to 41.0°
Lower Girdles 75% to 80%
Star Facets 50% to 55%
Girdle Thickness T – M – ST

Searching on Bluenile gave me one result that fell into this criteria
https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD04261952

I found this one on my own
https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD08715718

Both give an excellent rating on the HCA tool.

Will performance be greatly noticed between an ideal and sig ideal cut? Is there anything i could sacrifice on to keep weight at 0.9c?

I'm leaning towards my own find as it slightly larger.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could get a super ideal cut for roughly the same price (I searched for 4k USD to allow for duties since it looks like you were searching the BN UK site):

This could be a phenomenal buy if completely eye clean - CBI stones are amazing! http://highperformancediamonds.com/shop/g/HPD8999/?shop=yes

The first BN stone is nice but the WF/BG/CBI stones above are guaranteed to have spectacular performance. The second stone is a 60/60 style with a very low crown angle that we do not recommend. Will make for a flatter diamond with brilliance but little fire.

On your list of specs, you don't need star facets and lower girdles, just the others. But the depth they list is too deep. I'd go no lower than 62.3. The deeper the stone, the less diameter and face-up size.

I wouldn't buy a diamond without photos, so I'd also recommend the stones ac117 listed from Whiteflash. They are probably better cut than any from BN.

Thanks for comments. I will check out whiteflash, never heard of them until now. what is so special about them? Im worried about dropping in clarity. Can whiteflash comment on stones being eye clean? Im based in UK so price is in GBP.

Anyone have experience buying from USA and shipping to UK?

thanks

Whiteflash, Brian Gavin and High Performance Diamonds sell super ideal diamonds that are cut using very strict parameters in order to optimize light performance. Their signature stones are all in house and they provide light return images (ASET and ideal scopes), pics and video and can certainly pull the stones for you an evaluate them further (although the 2 WF stones are marked as eye clean but you could ask at what distnace/angle). We have many PSers from overseas who only buy from vendors such as these for peace of mind that they are getting the best of the best in cut.

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3833707.htm I've found this on WF. What do you think? Ticks all my boxes.

Gorgeous stone - any particular reason for such high color and clarity? I personally would rather one of the following - G is still very white and at this size, these VS2 stones will certainly be eye clean so I wouldn't want to pay so much more for higher clarity:

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3800298.htm - maximizes size

Thank you, i will check them out. No, no reason. I think i'm focusing too much on stats rather than value for money. (which i need to start doing.) So glad you have pointed me in direction of these sites

The HPD stone ac117 listed (0.83 G) is one you should look at. The clarity (SI2) makes it a bargain in price, for a high color, superideal stone, with > 6mm diameter, and the inclusions are primarily twinning wisps which are very difficult to see with the naked eye. You can spend the extra cash on the setting, or the wedding ring.

If you call or email Wink and his staff at High Performance Diamonds they will make you a video that you can view to your heart's content.

Also they have a great trade up policy, in case you strike it rich someday and want to give your love a bigger stone :)) .
