Hello everyone,

First timer here looking to buy an engagement ring and I could use some honest non-biased opinions.I wanted some feedback on this specific diamond which is causing me some concern due to its relatively big knot inclusion. Should I be concerned about this inclusion and avoid the diamond altogether?

Also the vendor(UK) is currently selling this at a price of 4440 (GBP). Does anyone have any feedback as to whether this is good value for money?

Finally I'm trying to decide between these 4 diamonds - Specifications attached. My max budget solely for the diamond is 4500 (GBP)

Price for each one:

1e = 4440 (GBP)
0.9D = 4350 (GBP)
0.9G-1=3150 (GBP)
0.9G-2 = 3200 (GBP)

There is no specific reason why some of the options are D or E. These are just some of what I was shown.

After deciding whether the first diamond I asked about should be in the mix or not which one would you go for?

I could use all the help I can get. Thanks!

1e si1 knot in the middle of the table + chip means that diamond is selling at a large discount.
Is that discount being passed on to you?
Even at the full discount is it worth it?
not to me.

Agree.

one of the G si1 also has a cavity.
The other #1 has a grade setting feather

Sounds like bottom of the barrel for the grade.
They may or may not be priced for what they are.
Convert the prices to USD and use the pricescope
serach engine and add 15% for tax to get price comps.
They will be on the equivalent of the low end of what you find or lower.

If as I suspect these are all from the same vendor I will tell you the game they are playing.
Are they all from the same vendor?

Thank you both the feedback it is much appreciated. I'll be comparing the prices as you suggested.

I'm not sure whether I am getting a discount for it given that I don't really have a good idea of how much one without those inclusions would sell for. I've tried using some online diamond price calculators to get an overall idea but again not sure what I can rely on.

All apart from the 0.9G-2 are from the same vendor.

Having said the above if you absolutely had to choose between the above 4 which one would you go for?

Thanks

To be perfectly honest, I would put my wallet back in my pocket and walk away.

Using a comparably undesirable 1 e/si1 comps around $3000usd or a bit less.
Which comes out to 2,403.60 Pound sterling or a bit less.
It way overpriced even after adding 15% for tax which is what I expected.

The game they play is they don't make money on total price they make money on margin so they intentionally use the biggest and the lowest priced stones as ones they have the highest margins on when otffering 3 stones like that.

All sales are final, lay it on real thick get the money and say sorry if they come back complaining and since it was all legal. There is little recourse.
Your paperwork says you bought a GIA 1ct si1 and that is what your grading report says you got.

Should have added that they make a higher margin by getting the lowest cost stone they can for that grade then not forwarding the huge discount to the client and charging the same price as a stone without issues.
That can be 30%++ extra money.

Agreed, I wouldn't buy any of these to be honest
