Thank you for being such a valuable resource. I have narrowed my search down to two diamonds, and would love some input from the forum on which is preferable.

As regards price, Diamond 2 is more expensive, but not a deal-breaker.

Diamond 1

1.00ct / H / VS2
GIA triple excellent
Faint flourescence
L/W/D: 6.49/6.45/3.90

Depth: 60.3
Table: 58
Crown: 32
Pavilion: 41

HCA 0.8 (excellent for all factors)

Diamond 2

1.088ct / I / SI1
AGS Ideal cut
Negligible fluorescence
L/W/D: 6.64/6.67/4.05

Depth: 60.8
Table: 56.7
Crown: 34.1
Pavilion: 40.8

HCA 1.0 (excellent for all except very good spread)

Thanks! May I know why? :boohoo: Will I be going wrong with either diamond?

I prefer #2. Diamond 1 has too shallow of a crown angle for me. I think a 34.1 CA and 40.8 PA is a great combination. I also like the slightly smaller table on stone 2. Have you seen a video of these stones to help you decide?

No I have not. I don't think I will have the chance to view the video.

When I look at the Idealscope, diamond 1 seems comparable or even better than diamond 2. Am I missing something here?

Number 2...the shallow crown on the first one will result in a brighter stone but usually at the cost of fire. Number 2 has more of the standard angles which balance white light and fire. The is nothing
Like seeing a diamond put off fire. Just amazing what these little disco balls can do.

Number 2 is my preference but there is nothing wrong with number 1.

Plus diamond 2 is an ACA or Expert Selection and these stones are amazing! Is number 1 a Whiteflash stone?

No it isn't. Number 1 is a James Allen stone, excellent cut.

To a more seasoned eye I would say most people would pick number two, particularly when looking at the arrows.

However, you seem very inclined to want number 1. Is this because of price? If you want to share your budget I'm sure we could give you more options. Seems like you want a reason not to spend the money on #2

That is true. Apart from price, which I'd definitely prefer to be lower, I am in a bit of a rush to get the ring. Based on Whiteflash's production estimates, I would not be able to get the ring in time. That, more than price, would be a dealbreaker.

I believe diamond no. 1 is $5940 (after the PS discount), no. 2 being $6,500.

I am a pretty ashamed to say that this is a bit of a rush job, so I would be willing to go for no. 1 despite it not being ideal, so long as it does not have glaring deficiencies.

Btw, thanks for everyone's patience.

No problems...I think we can get you even lower in price with a well-cut stone. Niel is probably looking right now. Which
setting are you planning on going with?

If you go to blue Nile, this one looks nice. Well assume you use a $100 discount code and pay with a card as you're in a rush. That would make this 5955

LD06857391 (search that, links don't work right)

So well assume that'll leave you 800 for the setting.

Of the soli settings in plat under 800, these are the ones I like... Both can be found under the Zac Posen side. One isna little bit different, but still a nice low soli, so if she'd like that, there you go. They'll tell you the delivery date, check that. I'm looking for the coupon code now
