Hello,

I am a first time diamond shopper with a budget of 14k-16k for a center diamond. After shopping around for over two months, I finally narrowed it down to two diamonds and need some help pick one. Any thoughts/opinions on the diamonds are very much appreciated.

Diamond 1: 2.1 Carat Color I, Clarity VS2, Cut Excellent, HCA score 0.9.Fluorescence Intensity Faint

Link to GIA report:

My concern for this diamond is color. Given the size of this diamond, would color I show a lot of yellowish under natural light? In addition, is USA Certed Diamonds a legit company? Should I be concerned about buying from them? The price they offer is much lower than what I found on enternity By Yoni website for the same diamond. See link below.

Diamond 2: 2.20 carat Color I, Clarity SI1, Cut Excellent, HCA score 2.7. Fluorescence Intensity Faint

Also concerned about the color. Since I can't see the diamond in person, I am not sure if I should go for higher color with a smaller diamond. I just don't want to buy a diamond looks obviously yellowish.

Thank you everyone in advance.

I'm a dude that has been lurking for 4 months now but from what I read having some fluorescence will help with the I color to appear more white. Let the experts chime in i was trying to help you out and bump your thread. Good luck.

Hi Goofy,

Of the two, I would go with the first one. Its proportions are overall pretty good. I would not worry too much I color, its should not be noticeably yellow once you have it in a mounting. Kodiak mentioned fluorescence helping with the color, but only intensity of above medium will really have a noticeable effect on color. Both of these are Faint, so its negligible.

Higher color isn't necessary imo, but you can always find a local store and to see a I and a G to see if you can tell the difference in a setting.

Happy Hunting

Hi

I am new here too. I would go with the 1st 1 as well. The HCA score for the 2nd 1 is not good. I thought we are suppose to reject any diamond with HCA score of above 2.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Does anyone know if USA Certed Diamonds is a legit company? The company's website looks like a scam.

I only heard positive things about this company herr at PS. I have never dealt this company, though.

Yea.. THAT website..so retro... he needs to do something about it. His name is martin i recall.

Scammers today would not run a website with such ghetto design...
