Hi everyone, thanks for reading. I've been doing a lot of reading and am about to make me first diamond purchase. My budget is around 3400 and I narrowed it down to about these 4 choices. Please tell me what you guys think, I would so very much appreciate anyones feedback and input. Are these stones I selected a good value for my budget? All are around 3200 to 3500. And also how are the cut quality for these? Thank you so much for your time.

You can run the HCA yourself using the program under tools.

Thanks for the response! I did run the hca but had some questions. I read that the ideal crown was somewhere around 34.5 and pavilion 40 to 41. However some of the diamonds I did the hca for were out of that range and still scored better then ones that were in that range. Was hoping to understand why. Thanks!

It's the combo of crown and pavilion angle that matter. Any HCA score 2.0 and under is considered good and a .8 doesn't mean it's better than a 1.8. Honestly, I've seen some diamonds that score 2.4 and 2.6 and they look great too. Typically they are steeper combos like 35 or 35.5 crown and 41 pav. Diamond #3 is probably a good example.

Diamonds #1 and 2 are safe combos. Diamond #4 might be considered a little shallow but I tend to like this combo.

You need to see them in person and see which appeals to you. They all seem to have good specs though and will have slightly different personalities.

My vote is for #1. I like a smaller table and a higher crown though.

You forgot to list diameter, and that is an extremely important factor to consider.

Thanks for letting me know about the diameter! I never considered that and am really not sure how to gauge it.

I am really now considering between diamond #1 and #2 but am having a difficult time making the decision between the two!

The Diameter for #1 (.8 carat) is 5.95-5.97-3.68

The Diameter for #2 (.77) is 5.87-5.9-3.63

How are those diameters for diamonds of that size?

Thanks so much again for the responses. you have all been so helpful

Hello JCNP7777,

Is it possible to get light-performance images for these diamonds (Ideal-Scope or ASET)? The numbers can tell you quite a bit about predicted performance, and the HCA helps you to choose those that should be considered further. If you can find the light-performance images and post them here, you will get some quality feedback on both diamonds.
