so I've been going in and out of this jeweler for weeks now looking for a stone in my budget and today I came across one that I may go ahead and purchase.

It is a 1.06 carat, G VS1, with EX cut, VG polish, and VG symmetry for just under $7,000.

I looked at it under the jeweler's loupe and I couldn't see a THING.

Everything seems great, but the GIA report shows that the VS1 inclusions are in the center of the stone. Like I said, I've been looking at diamonds for the past few weeks, so I am pretty good at finding inclusions now, but I couldn't find the inclusions in this diamond for the life of me.

Being a first time diamond buyer, I am still concerned though. Below is the GIA certificate. Could someone please advise me on whether or not this is a smart purchase?

Thanks so much!

Looks promising from the numbers.

Ya, you will be hard put to find an inclusion in the VS1 range with a 10X loupe. Try looking at it with a microscope and then louping it again, you might have a better chance.

Thanks Focus

An Idealscope image would be needed for this crown and pavilion combination, it is what we call steep deep and there is a chance the diamond might show light leakage. Having longer lower girdle facets might help but an image is really needed.
