Hello,

I recently purchased a bridal ring set for my fiancee. It's from Alvin's Jewelers in Cleveland Ohio. It was their going out of business sale. I got it on the last day, and now they are out of business. I got it for 85% off. They had it listed as worth $1,499, and I paid $225. I did a ton of Google searching for the make and model ring, but found nothing. And that is how I found this forum.

The description on the receipt is "14K YG .16RD Bridal Set F" Looking in the inside of the ring, it clearly says 14K on one side. The other side is hard for me to make out. I think it says "SP." or "9P." I really wish I had more information but because it was the last day, I didn't get any other certificates or anything.

I am hoping it was worth it, if even just for the gold and a small diamond if I want to change it. I don't expect it to be amazing quality, but I am really curious what it might actually be worth.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Like the name of the pattern or design on the rings.

Thanks!

Hi Clowcards! :wavey: Thanks for posting your pictures. The most important thing is - do you love the set and do you think your fiancee will love the set? It's different and quite pretty.

If you don't have much luck finding something similar for comparison, you could always have it weighed and back-figure. Remember 14K is 14/24 = 58.3% pure. Alternatively, you could try to sell it and see how much a dealer is willing to give you.

That all may be too much hassle though. Just enjoy the rings! :praise:

They are very pretty rings.

My guess was also Van Craynest. Very pretty! :appl:

The rings are very pretty, with a bit of antiquey look to them. I think they will look beautiful!

Hi hi!!! I too, think that the rings are very beautiful & unique. Your fiancee's friends will most probably not have anything similar to them. I hope you & your fiancee enjoy those rings! :appl:

Van Craeynest only works in 18k gold, 18k rose gold, and 900 platinum, so a 14k gold ring is not likely to be from them. It looks like a modern ring made to resemble the "orange blossom" styles you find in older wedding jewelry. Orange blossom is a flower that was very typically associated with marriage back when flowers meant something other than "I'm sorry" or "Happy Mother's Day." It is a very unique and pretty set, especially if she likes older, vintage-style jewelry! As for the stamp "9P" or "SP", I have no help for you. "SP" on silver jewelry means silver-plated, which of course this being a 14k gold ring wouldn't apply. It may be a manufacturer's mark.

I'm not sure who the designed the ring, but I know a PS regular that has a similar style, I believe it's Galateia?

Thank you all for the responses. I do love the rings. The antique look, and the relative uniqueness of the style of rings appeal to me. I read the thread on how to photograph better, and took a few more pictures.

The diamond is so small, it's hard photograph well, but using the macro setting helped alot.

I AGREE WITH STARRYEYED.. ASNLONG AS U N URS ARE HAPPY WITH IT THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

I love the set! It's so unique and different :appl: I hope that your fiancee loves it too and you keep it as it is, coz i think that the style is so elegant :appl:

Sorry I can't help with information but I really like the engraving. I agree with others who said it looks similar to vintage/antique styles.

Very pretty rings, I am sure that she will love them!
