There are some people who have J and K colored stones that are very happy with them. Other people won''t settle for anything other than a D. It really comes down to the individual person and how color sensitive you are. You may or may not be able to detect color in an ideal cut J stone. If possible, look at the stone and compare it to others. On my I colored stone, I could barely tell it apart from a D colored stone with them both face up. If you looked at it from the pavilion, it was easy, but face up, it was tough to distinguish the two.

Wow!!! That stone will probably be VERY bright (looked it up)....call the vendor if you are concerned about color, but face up it should really sparkle!!!

I was considering this stone for a while.

Jonathan told me it is a beautiful stone. He said it faces up very white.

Pebbles, what made you decide against this one?

I just decided to go bigger.

Jonathan said it is an awesome stone and for just under 1ct you save quite a bit of money.

The numbers look really nice on that stone. A J stone is really a preference thing, but then so are all diamonds. We all make adjustments in the 4Cs depending on what''s important to us individually. I have an I. I''ve had it in 18k yellow. I''ve looked at it next to an F and could not tell the dif in color face up (or from the side to be honest). It is now in platinum with f-G melee and there is not one whit of color to be found in it from any angle. I think that if Jonathan said it will face up very white, I would take a look at it.

Have no concerns whatsoever regarding whether or not the cut is good on the diamond that you have detailed. You''ve stated that this diamond has a GIA Cert and that the cut is graded as Excellent - this is the very best cut grade that a GIA diamond can achieve so with regards to being a good cut, it is not good - it is fantastic, top notch.

Re the color, make your own decision. Linvillegorge makes a very good point. It depends upon how color sensitive you are & don''t forget you are buying the diamond for you, not for anybody else. One thing that might be worth doing if you are able to is viewing J color stones that are already set in yellow gold - this will give you an accurate idea of how yours will look when set.

Carlotta and Pebbles have both been told by the vendor that the stone is beautiful but then he would say that wouldn''t he? I don''t know who the vendor is but I would imagine that he would offer something like a 30-day money back guarantee. Providing he does, simply order the diamond, see it up close and personal and make the informed decision.

One correction............I was not "told" anything about the stone, but I DID look it up on the website (it was easy to find, as it is the only stone of the same size and color on the Pricescope search!)......I was impressed that, according to the Helium scan, the stones'' angles are very "tight" - have very little variation....the reflector image looks good (and 3 VH on gem-ex report!).
I would agree to try to see it in person, and determine the color, etc. with one''s own eyes...

Oops! Day one on this forum & I have already messed up! Apologies for my oversight Carlotta

While most vendors want to sell their stones, most will also tell you whether or not it is a great stone or if there are others in that price range which are better. I have talked about several different stones with this vendor and he had always told me his honest opinion when comparing stones.
