Planning on getting engaged soon. Like the subject says I've never bought a piece of jewelry so I have been taking a crash course recently. So, I looked at some rings with my gf. She was in love with this setting from Jared. (http://design.jared-diamonds.com/engagement-rings/neil-lane-bridal-settings/ring/item_476-6080.asp) so I purchased it without her knowing, for $1600. It might not have been a great price but I think her heart was set on it. BUT, I did not purchase a diamond at the time. I figured I could get a better deal somewhere else just buying a loose diamond and having Jared set it. So for the past couple of weeks I've been researching diamonds on BlueNile and Adiamor. I want to cut an ideal cut and excellent polish so it will sparkle. The setting will only hold from a .5 carat to a .75 carat Princess cut (5mm max). My price range is about $1650 max for the loose diamond (have to have enough left to purchase the wedding/honeymoon). BlueNile and Adiamor do have better deals than I was offered at Jareds. Needing some help choosing what diamond to buy and if these websites are even credible.

I'm looking at these diamonds from the BlueNile Signature collection and Adiamor Affinity collection:

And these from Adiamor:

Please offer any advice you experts think is necessary. Thanks.

Here are ASET images I have for 3 diamonds from James Allen. JA highly recommended 1402435 and did not recommend 1419572.

"After evaluating these diamonds, our gemologist determined that diamond 1402435 is your best option. This diamond has the best overall performance, a very nice shape, great E color performance, and is predictably perfectly eye clean. It is an excellent selection, and I am confident you will be pleased with its performance in person.

Diamond 1417350 appears slightly darker than our recommended selection, but also has good E color performance and is lovely in its own right.

Diamond 1419572 has the darkest performance of your selections, and is simply not recommended."

Do you guys agree with them?
