Wedding First dress fitting?

I have my first dress fitting scheduled for next week, and I''m a little nervous because I have no idea what to expect. None of my friends/siblings have gotten married yet, so I have nobody to ask! What should I expect from the first fitting?

You should try to have your undergarments and shoes already and take them with you to make sure the fit will be like it will be on the day of. The first fitting is where they basically figure out what alterations need to be done and pin the dress so they can start working on it. I think that you probably won''t need to tell them exactly how to add a bustle at this one (unless you don''t really need any work done), but you could discuss possibilities with them.

Okay... I have the undergarnments and shoes, so that''s good. How many fittings does it usually take to complete?

It depends on the extent of the needed alterations, and the skill of the seamstress. But usually two dress fittings/two rounds of alterations, then one final fitting to make sure everything is perfect.
