I checked out two diamonds and could notice a big difference in cut from a GIA very good to excellent. I don''t have an Ideal Scope yet, but could see the symmetry difference as shown in many of the Ideal Scope pictures on this site. It looked eye clean to me (newbie), but it had one good sized inclusion (10X) near the edge, but not right on the edge.

Here are the specs on the better one:

GIA
6.93 x 6.97 x 4.33
1.28 ct
SI2
Cut, Polish & symmetry: all excellent
Flour: Faint
Depth 62.3%
Table: 56%
Crn: 35 degrees
Pav: 41 degrees
Girdle: Med-slightly thick (faceted)
Price: $6800 with everything

I tried entering these specs into the cut advisor, but I don''t know the culet, it didn''t say, but showed 75% & none neat the culet on the cert.

Your thoughts?

Thanks!

the "none" note was likely the culet.

Here's what I got on the HCA rating: 2.3 -worth buying if the price is right

scored very good on everything - was outside AGS box but in GIA dotted lines.

Selected: 62.3% depth, 56% table, 35° crown angle, 41° pavilion angle
The result is for a symmetrical diamond with a medium girdle and very good polish
HCA scores were adjusted Dec. 15, 2001 and Feb. 6, 2003.

So, if it''s a "none" on the GIA, you enter "0" in the culet box, is that correct?

yes

If this diamond is online, could you request an Idealscope image to check this diamond out?

/\ It''s a local contact through a friend, so I don''t have an Ideal Scope picture. I can order an Ideal Scope and take a picture, though.
