Hello,

I have done a ton of reading the last few weeks, the most influential of which has been on this forum. I have found three diamonds and obtained their Ideal scope on JA and would love your much more expert opinion.

Im looking for a ~1.25c round, preferably H, eye clean for less than 7000.

Here are links to all 3, all have HCA under 2. I have attached their Idealscope underneath.

Thank you in advance for any opinion or suggestions.

3606717. Even saturation edge to edge and without the leakage issues the other two have.

One thing I forgot to mention. Would the feather on the girdle of 3606717 cause any durability concerns for you? Would james allen be responsible for any issues?

Didn’t scrutinise the grading report well enough. There is an etch channel inclusion that could potentially go straight through the diamond from pavilion to crown side. That alone worries me.

A previous PS thread on etch channels:

The feather on the girdle should be ok as it is smack bang in the middle of two arrows meaning that it would benefit from the protection of a prong covering it.

Thank you for your help. The Rep stated that 3697539 was his favorite stone as the feature could be a durability issue. He also stated that it should be just as bright as 3606717 even though it had a better ideal scope.

Would you consider purchaing 3697539? or should I keep looking.

I have problems with all three. The first will be very unlikely to be eye clean, but I like the crisp arrows. The second cut is really off, I can't get the arrows to align and show even brightness and I don't like the numbers. The third has serious inclusions all over and that facet pair at 9'oclock makes me cringe. I vote none of the above.

Can you post you post your wants (color/clarity/size), max budget in usd for diamond alone, and minimum color? Also, what kind of setting do you have in mind. We can look...

I second rockysalamander in asking what your budget and intended specifications of the diamond are. A whole bunch of us on here are likely to be able to find you a really good performer within your budget.

Guessing here on details, but I encountered these searching for another person and wanted to write them down before I forget. Also, I think they only send 3 IS images per email, so perhaps a friend can help you with the next round. Hold off requesting until others chime in and we get your actual brief.

But, it is between the arrows and should be covered by a prong. It is worth asking JA's gemologist if they feel a prong could cover that one, 6.87 mm}

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...rat-i-color-vvs1-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-249046 {crown a bit steep but lovely clarity and good light movement. I think this stone was not photographed well and the focal point is off. This has a nice balance of angles and with AGS0...best grading for cut}

Thank you all so much. Trying to find a diamond is a engagement ring is much more difficult than i expected.

I need to keep the whole ring under 8000. Looking for a petite pave. Diamond alone 7000

As for the stone. Trying to get around 1.25 carrots. She is color sensitive so prefer H. Looking for eye clean and as sparkly as possible. She loves fire and brightness.

And yes only 3 ideal scopes. I can see if a friend can help with more. Im currently at the gym will look at suggestions above as soon as im home.

Thank you again

Thank you for the suggestions above, they all look great, I do want to keep it to H or above because of the color sensitivity she has shown.

After looking for a bit more and realizing that the setting she wants is one of the cheapest at 800. I can push my budget to 7500 for the diamond. I have found a few more I would love some input on.

Looks like a amazing cut, Im worried its so dirty that it may affect light performance, but I feel like theyre all small so possibly eye clean?

This is my favorite, I feel like the big inclusion could be covered by a prong? G color!

Another with small enough inclusions where I feel they would be eye clean. Cut looks good to me, another candidate for a idealscope?

Thank you all so much. Your help and expertise is invaluable for the biggest purchase I will have made to date. I welcome any other suggestions or directive.
