First diamond purchase, please help I need some advice which is better?

Price range is up to 2100, this is what I was provided with. .62 through .64 which seems pretty small but that''s all whiteflash came up with in my price range. It will be in a halo setting so maybe that will help it to appear larger.

I don''t know much and I''m not sure what really makes a difference, I know ideal cut does but should I have her look for a very good cut and bigger size?

I totally understand wanting to go up in size, though you''ll have to make some sacrifices in other places. Would you be willing to drop colour and clarity to the J SI1/2 range?


The thing about cut is that it''s what makes the stone sparkly, so you don''t want to sacrifice, but not sacrificing does not limit you to branded H&As. You can certainly get a lovely near H&A non-ACA (or even non-ES) that will be an excellent performer, as long as you are A) truly okay with the fact that it''s not branded and not hearts and arrows, and B) aware that the return, refund, upgrade policies may be different on these types of stones, depending on your vendor - this is a biggie!
