First CAD rendering of Lemony''s new home :)

Hello!!!!

I decided to go with Michael Edgett to make Lemony''s forever home...
This image is a very rough of what will be when done. We decided to go with "Fleur De Lys" as prongs for the tip of the
pear and also at the tip of the trillions - then delicate claw prongs for the rest. I cannot find on the net another image of the Fleur de Lys prongs, but I know it will look
really great after Michael works his magic on the finishing touches on the setting.

I decided to go with 18KT White Gold and 18KT yellow gold for the center basket. I cannot wait to see it when it is finished!

I know you didn''t ask for feedback, but I think smaller trillians would look a little more balanced and delicate. But do whatever floats your boat, it will be killer no matter what!

I prefer the bigger trills, I like the proportions very much. It''s gorgeous.

Have to say, Michael is a fantastic craftsman and he will do a stunning job. He made a ring for my best friend''s birthday a few years ago and some sapphire earrings for me. We were both absolutely thrilled with the finished product.

About the trillions, bear in mind that this is a rough CAD - the trillions will be in proportions, i totally trust Michael E to deliver only the best. He has made me numerous pieces over the years and I always admired his work cause he''s a perfectionist! The trillions will be around .65CT-.70CT on each side, with a 5.13CT center, i think its is a good ratio. I see the Trillions as their own in the 3 stone ring, they have to hold presence to the center pear. I don''t want to end up with trillions that are like baguettes in the setting, I want them to be "there".

I will post more CAD into this thread as Michael sends them to me!

I can''t tell from this cad, is Lemony in a "golden bowl?" (for the life of me I can''t recall what that thing is called) Or is she out there for all to see? What was Edgett''s thoughts on using one? I know you were perplexed about the intensity or shade of yellow without using the cup. But in this cad, with the white clarity of the white diamonds flanking the yellow, I can see a strong argument for NOT using one. The Clearness? of the stones seem to compliment each other. Light would seem to travel better for all going rogue! I never thought of that until I saw your cad. So what is the verdict?

One more Q...what ever does it feel like without your LEMON DROP on? Have you a placeholder or just nekkid?

The Trillions will have Fleur De Lys prongs at the tip where the shank meets, the other ones will be delicate claw prongs. The CAD is very rough, he sent it to me to see if I agreed with the pear prong first and I like it!

Hey there

I have decided to NOT do a yellow gold cup. She will be left in all of her Glory. The center basket and prongs will be 18KT yellow gold. The cup adds color to the stone which is preferred in "true" fancy colors, but I think it also adds more trouble to clean and gather little specs here and there.
I know that when michael E gets my ring and that she is out of her cup, he''ll be taking lots of pictures for me to see and get used to...

Right now, Lemony is still on my finger, she has not left yet. He was able to do all this cause of the exact measurements from the GIA cert... so she''ll stay here as long as possible before her long jourey from NH to WA... yikes. Just the thought of that makes my heart hurt... lol

Unfortunately, no

Michael E said that to render a cad it takes several hours... Yikes! Until I am pleased with key elements, we will be moving slowly, and then after that, I''ll have many views, and of course, I''ll be happy to share them with all of you!

Hello there Taylorbug!

Lemony''s color is W to X. She is enhanced with a gold cup in which she rests in at the moment and probably gives her most of the color she shows now in the setting. I bet that when she is free from her setting, the color will be more fluid and faint - which is kinda cool and can''t wait to see!

I will be wearing the same wedding band with the new setting. It will be nice cause the center basket will be in yellow gold. i love that eternity band ( from Single Stone ), I think it will all match
