Would one of you kind folks link some info re interplay of angles and how they affect fire and brilliance, controlling for the fact that the cut is at least an AGS 0 or Super Ideal?

I've learned a ton so far but am still struggling to get why a 34.5 goes with X or Y...

I haven't found that much on this yet despite reading a ton of threads, articles on HPD and WF, etc.

Thank you for pointing me the right way.

Thank you @valeria101

Do you have anything more substantia, in-depth, and specific?

@Karl_K you seem to be into this stuff... can you point me to any helpful resources? Thank you!

It is scattered all over the place, since it often degrades into conflict I don't think anyone has brought it together on PS.
Fire is 100% lighting dependent. When people talk about fire differences with different combos what is often meant is how many different lighting conditions across a wide range of conditions fire is observed. Like an oec will show fire in lighting where say a mrb is showing only brightness.

I would direct you to the @Serg 's OctoNus site ... I haven't walked around it for some time, so you may wish to leaf through it, for ETAS & Fire.

There certainly was some discussion of Fire versus Brilliance back in the day when the HCA was young ! Hence BIC & FIC. I remained with the impression that the joint change of main angles from crown to pavilion depth, trades fire for brilliance. I do not recall any metric developed specifically to describe a tradeoff of crown versus pavilion angles for each well-defined target of Fire-ness (or such) ... I would be surprised this has not been considered. [e.g. I still have not quite caught up with Serghey's last thread considering metrics]

I dab ...
