Finished Spessartite Ring

I had this ring made at a gem show about 6 years ago. It originally had a blue zircon, then a pink sapphire and now a spessartite. The stone was cut by Dan Stair and is a 5.1mm round. He did an amazing job cutting the stone.

You can really see in to the stone on this one.

And it does sparkle like crazy. The diamonds are .05 ct each.

Icekid, I have a small collection but enjoy working on it one sparkle at a time. What is the stone in your avatar? It''s a very pretty color.

Coati, Dan was able to give me the exact color I asked for; I have quite a few orange shirts and sweaters.

Linda, my diamond is an AGS0 and the 2 rings setting side by side today was amazing to see how well the spessartite is cut; Dan did an amazing job on it.

Joflier, since this stone is only 5mm I was kind of amazed at how much it sparkles in my jewelry box; I noticed it right away this morning.

Harriet, it is very bright. How is your spessartite ring coming along?

Michelle, I used to think I didn’t like garnets, that is before I knew what well cut garnets looked like.

Ma re, I am glad you like the ring.I always go for just enough diamond to add a sparkle but like to keep the center stone the main focus.

My ring is still a long way from looking like yours. The stone is still sitting in Leon''s vault. Poor guy, I''m driving him batty. There are three stubborn people involved in the design, but I think I finally have The One.

I will try to get a felt tree this weekend. I''ll wander the craft store and see what other trinkets I can come up with. I may as well use my gem dish for some entertainment.

I am enjoying my ring. I can''t believe how much it sparkles. I wrote Dan and told him it was holding it''s own against my ASGO diamond.
