Hi everyone!

So a while back I posted this thread —
https://www.pricescope.com/communit...eat-grandma’s-stone-input-appreciated.237458/

about my great grandmother’s stone and my BGD diamond and my loss at what to do with either.

Well I finally made some moves! I had my great grandma’s stone set in a bezel design by a local jeweler and I’m pretty happy with it... I will post pictures soon. It had a chip on the side and so the bezel is extended a tiiiiiny bit over but I’m okay with it.

So now, my next project! Finding a coordinating stone for the studs I am hoping to have :rolleyes2:

My stone is a BG Signature stone and the AGS report is below. My main question is, do I need to get another BG stone to have a good match? I’m trying to be relatively economical so if James Allen/Blue Nile or another retailer has a potential match, I will definitely consider it!

Email IDJ and request Denise. She has a lot of experience with super ideals and is great at finding matches.

Thank you PintoBean! I will!!!

I would probably want to match it with another super ideal, not a GIA diamond. From an upgrade perspective, it would be easier to have them with the same vendor. Inventory at the moment in the 30pt is not looking too promising. I think it’s after the V-day rush, so perhaps waiting a few weeks may be beneficial for you. These may sorta work, but there are some differences in dimensions:

With BGD, you will get the repeat customer discount, or ideally you want to purchase when they are running a sale.

@SimoneDi linked some great options! What's the budget? It's nice to have mind clean stones but I really wouldn't mind eye clean SI1's at this size to save any money if you need to and I really would probably be choosing that WF I SI1 which gets you under $600 with the wire discount! I have one H and one I colored stud (.8 each) and the color difference is negligible especially wearing them.

I’d stick with a super ideal to get a perfect match. I did that with a BGD stone a few years ago, took a few months, but I got pretty much a twin for my existing stone. I’d also stick with H, but I can see the difference between H and I, which would bug me, that may just be me. BGD should give you 10% off, as a repeat customer ( at least they did when I was buying mine).

Thank you SimoneD!!! I will take a look at these stones. I was thinking getting a BG diamond would help to allievate concerns as far as “matching” but was also having issues with finding an exact match. The upgrade is something to consider too. Will have to get in touch with them and see what they say.

Thanks alene! I’m leaning in that direction. As SimoneD pointed out, it will be easier to handle upgrades as well. H is probably the lowest I would go, just for “mind cleanness.” If I was buying the stones together I would go I for the value.

Hi ac117, the budget is up to $850. I will reach out to BGD and see what options they have or suggest because SimoneD made a good point as far as if I choose to upgrade, it will be easier to do with two stones from the same place.
