Finding 3 stone setting that fits with eternity band

Hi everyone! My amazing boyfriend proposed a few weeks ago with a beautiful 3 stone ring. Unfortunately it can’t be resized and is too big for my size 6 finger so we need to find a new ring. Since he spent so much time and effort picking out the ring, I really want to stay with a three stone that looks similar to what he proposed with.

I’ve spent days reading through this forum and looking at different settings. I’m leaning toward the Brian Gavin Truth 3 or Open Galley accented. I would like to keep the entire e ring under 8k if possible.

Does anyone have these settings, or similar, with an eternity band like this?

I’m concerned there may be too much of a gap. Without seeing the rings in person, it’s really hard to tell.

Thoughts?

Hi LAdreams - and welcome! Firstly, can you pls post a photo of your original ring? That would be very helpful.

Are you planning on re-using the stones in the ring he gave you? Is there some reason you're not considering going custom? Will the eternity ring be your wedding ring, or will there be a band in between these rings? Do you want the rings to sit completely flush, or is a tiny gap ok?

Start with posting a photo of your original ring so we can give you a more informed opinion on how to make this work for you. Also - roughly, where do you live? Because if you are in LA, I'd suggest going to David Klass Jewelry in the LA diamond district; they are very popular in this forum, and they do an excellent job and are reasonably priced.

I agree with getting the setting custom made. That gives you flexibility on where you find your stones. I don't think you can decide on a wedding band until you have the engagement ring to try them on with. I wouldn't do a full eternity, though, because they can't be sized. The gap is not as much of an issue as the height of the band would be, because with that style, the diamonds can eat into the engagement ring prongs if it is too high. So that's why we'd always say to wait to look at wedding bands.
