Ok, just talked to the vendor again, and I think I''m gonna go through with this one. I''m hoping to get some help/reassurance/opinions!

It''s a 1.12ct. I SI2 Round Ideal with a GIA cert. and it''s completely eye-clean. It gets a 2.3 on the HCA with the angles, and it''s at the high-end of my budget.

Tried to attach a pic... hopefully it works.

Do you have your own idealscope? How many days is the review/return period? If it is a generous 10 day or more, there''s no reason not to buy it, review it (by yourself or with an independant appraiser) and then decide once and for all. It looks pretty on my screen.

Can you get IS pics?

I don''t have my own ideal-scope, and the vendor I''m ordering from (yes, a PS vendor) doesn''t use it because I asked.

I''m considering getting an independent appraisal when it comes in. I think that''s a good option, but the $125 price tag for a 1 hour appraisal with the PS recommended appraiser seems a little steep. It adds a decent amount to the cost of the diamond, and the vendor gives a free insurance appraisal when you buy.

Oh, and they have a 30 day viewing period, so I''ll have some time! What do you think?

Here''s the last pic they sent me....

Honestly? I would not do it with those angles without an IS first.

Wow, thanks Skippy, that thread''s great. It sounds like the 41/53 Combo is right on the edge of the ideal range, although it scores Ex/Ex/Ex by GIA standards. Makes me wonder what it would score by AGS standards, I have seen that the GIA ideal range is quite broad. However, sounds like it still may be a great stone and I am getting a good deal on it.

I too wish some experts would chime in on this one, as all of that seemed quite confusing for a amateur like me. It made my ''apprentice'' username seem all the more fitting.
