I have been away for a while.... lack of will to plan lately.... But my deadbeat bride days are over! (Please note-this is a New Years resolution!)
P and I will marry on July 11, 2009 in Heidelberg Germany.... very old world romantic. The second I saw this dress, I knew it was the one! Back story...
I was visiting my family in the states for 10 days so time was short. I live in Switzerland and everthing here is WAY overpriced and most of it is not my taste. I went to 5 stores in my hometown, and I found one seriously wonderful contender...gorgegous sample in my size, hugely reduced. It met all my criteria. But naturally, since Filenes running of the Brides was in town while I was there, I had to check it out. (The date of the event was exactly 1 year from my wedding date, so I took it as a good sign, but I certainly didnt expect to find something.) Well I certainly was not willing to fight the crowds, so I showed up at a leisurely 9:30am, searched for gals my size, and took their rejects. Sure beat looking through the leftovers on the racks. Well, I was about finished and ready to buy the dress in the other store when under an enormous pile of about 20 dresses, I saw the hem of something fabulous. I dug it out, and thank god it was untrampled! It was PERFECT! Emerald Bridal 7113. I bought my perfect dress for $250.00. As I learned here, its only a deal if you are getting EXACTLY what you want!
Without further ado....My dress!
