My search for a LGD didn’t begin too long ago, but I started with Lightbox diamonds. After ordering two different 2ct stones with “meh” cuts, I turned to Frank Darling for my choice, a 2.28ct G VS2 with IGI “ideal” proportions.

I found the setting on the Danhov site from the Norme are Danhov collection. It’s 900 plat, and I had the prongs turned to match the standard 12&6 orientation and after much back and forth with customer service, it’s finally here!

Pics don’t do it justice! The photo outside is reflecting all the trees in our backyard. I don’t see any tiny in this thing! I am in love!

A couple more shots! I wish I could capture the beauty of this thing! I didn’t think the hidden halo would be so large, I was expecting more of a diamond collar, but I adore it! :kiss2::kiss2:

Stunning! I like the prong orientation, and your diamond is a sparkle bomb. <3 Thank you for sharing pictures so we can drool with you. :D

Sorry, just a couple more photos to compare size and color next to my original e-ring, a 7mm F1 colorless Moissanite. =)2 9EAE5D2F-28D5-42E3-917E-FA191C729090.jpeg

Gorgeous upgrade!
Which do you prefer now that you've had both a LGD and the Moissanite. Would you humour me with a side by side video? :D

Since this is my first size-able diamond, I actually spend a good bit of time comparing the two in all sorts of lighting.

Apparently I had really gotten used to the amount of sparkle in the moissy so sometimes I miss that in my diamond. But I think that amount of bling in a 8.4mm stone would be a lot for me, so then I appreciate the more subtle, refined sparkle of the diamond.

Now that I have the diamond mounted, I can tell you that when I bought this one from Fred Darling, it was by far the least expensive one in their inventory. Having just returned a Lightbox diamond, I was really looking to find a good price but after I bought it I started worrying why the price was so low. I did end up getting out my 10x loupe and I can see a little bit of the stria in a couple of the arrows under the table which doesn’t cause any haziness or less sparkle, but I’m no expert. It looks crisp and clear to the naked eye. :D

In short, I love it to bits and can always switch back to my moissy when I want the smaller, more fiery look. It’s nice to have choices!
