Hi Lycos,

Can you post the crown and pavilion angles please?

crown angle is 34 deg and pavilion is 41.2 deg
hope this helps

Not that good. The pavilion angle is steep, there will be some light leakage. Can you get a Idealscope image from them? If not I will give this stone a miss.

Ditto, I would prefer a less steep pavilion angle especially if an Idealscope image is not a possibility.

what should be the proper angle for crown or pavalion
thanks for response

Sliding scale, roughly 41 degree for a crown angle of 33.5degree to 40.7 degree for a crown angle of 35degree.

Use the https://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp to weed out bad performing combination, any stone scoring above 2 is not consider a good candidate unless IS/ASET image is available.

This should help you from expert John Pollard.

"As the above implies, configurations depend on each other. A little give here can still work with a little take there.

With that said, here's a "Cliff's Notes" for staying near complementary angles with GIA reports (their numbers are rounded): A crown angle of 34.0, 34.5 or 35.0 is usually safe with a 40.8 pavilion angle. If pavilion angle = 40.6 lean toward a 34.5-35.0 crown. If pavilion angle = 41 lean toward a 34.0-34.5 crown.

GIA "EX" in cut is great at its heart, but it ranges a bit wider than some people prefer, particularly in deep combinations (pavilion > 41 with crown > 35)."

Try to keep pavilion angles 41 degrees or less to be safe.
