Finally engaged... received my dream ring!

We got engaged over the weekend after 6+ years together! He presented me with a 4.75 carat MRB beauty. E, VVS2 in a low set, platinum cathedral with slightly tapered sides (my finger is a 4.25). He was actually listening to all the tiny details about my dream setting that we've discussed over the years and made it happen! Honestly, though, was NOT expecting the size rock he chose. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but right now it's a little embarrassing.... I know, I know, good problem to have and I'll get over it. Anyway - so excited and wanted to share with all of you. This forum has definitely increased my love for the big and beautiful!

It is! For a band I like the two tone look, so I'll probably go with a plain gold millgrain band so the stone really shines.

If I understand your question correctly, the shoulders of the cathedral part are round but the inside of the part that touches my finger is flat for comfort.
