Last Sunday I needed something to do () well, I decided I was going to finally build a necklace from some of the stuff I stored away for years. I had a strand of purple/lavender freshies I bought from ebay years ago and some Agate purchased at a gem show. I used monofilament because I figured it wouldn't get it as dirty as silk thread. And I'm using some hematite rondels from hobby lobby.
I did not take pictures of the process, and my knots are like...laughable, but, being able to use 2 strands I was able to create a single knot then rondel to hide the absolutely bad knotting job. The good news is that the knots are all flat enough against each pearl, so if the darn thing breaks, I'm probably good! The agate is slightly heavy so I went with only 5. Most sections have 12 pears except the last one (yeah, oops!) Its got 16 pearls because thats what I had. Also I did not do a clasp. I did a really lovely knot and melted the monofilament closed. In all, it was a very fun experience! I would say in total it took me about 4 hours because I needed to get in a rhythm.
I sadly don't remember a lot of details about the pearls except that they're natural color and NOT round (well that part is obvious!!...lol)
