by NKOTB » Oct 9, 2018 So, I was pretty darn happy with my 10-year anni upgrade. A 2.76 tranny in Julia setting from LAD. But as time went on, I realized I wanted a more antique look - chunkier facets, more intricate setting. Then some expenses came up. I decided a moissy would be fine, that I didn’t need a big diamond. I traded in my tranny and bought a moissy and replicated my original ering setting. I love that ring. However, Erica had posted this stone, and I loved it...the faceting was holy grail-ish. Long story short, I now own this ring. 2.83 GIA K VS1, in platinum. I finally understand exactly what they mean when they say “kaleidoscope”. My only concern was that maybe the crown wouldn’t be high enough (PS, much?? Lol), but this stone seriously looks good at every angle. The setting is a combination of some of my favourites over the years. I honestly couldn’t be happier. I included my drawing of how I wanted Erica to change the shank on her modified Anne setting, partly for comedic value, partly to show the magic that can happen when talent meets stick figure.
