Final candidates of JA emerald cut stones

Hello there~

I have been scrutinizing the JA site lately searching for emerald cut, and I have narrowed down to 4 candidates. First 2, ASET requested; latter 2, not in NY so no ASET. But I actually likes the last one best from the video.

I would love to borrow your expert eyes, to help me take a look at the video. Which ones do you like / dislike, and any issue you are seeing? Thank you very much!!

I hesitate to comment until the asets are back but I will give you my impression as I see them now (which may or may not help ).

They all look pretty nice but the 1.2 does not look like it is doing much in the center. Now I don't know if that's the photography or
if it's really kind of 'blah" in the center. I kind of feel the same about the 1.22.

So, if it were me, and I had nothing else to go by, at this point I would be more interested in the 1.23 and the 1.3. Is JA going to
have the 2 in house so they can do asets? It so, it would be good to get an opinion from the gemologist while they can see both
of them together.

I'm no emerald expert...so wait for other opinions.

Are the ones I like. And the 1.3 is significantly larger.

I am totally lost as to how anyone can select ECs from JamesAllen and I know what I would be looking for. Those off axis non faceup videos do nothing for me and I already know one static ASET image is not enough.

That 1.3 looks quiet under the table from off axis and it might be better faceup but I would have no idea just don't have the data to confirm or refute.

Anyone care to share in detail what they are doing with pictures or commentary to select a good EC from JamesAllen?

Gypsy, thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I really admire your eyes for diamonds. This is one of the 2 stones you picked out before the ASET! The gemologist review states "this diamond has great brilliance that spreads throughout, making the diamond the brightest of the set."

Do you consider this ASET to be as good as a emerald cut can be? I noticed there's no blue, will that mean reduced fire or contrast? And the in the center of the table, there's an area of "low light reflection", which is neither red / green or white. What would that indicate to be? Leakage?

Also I still find the 1.3 G more attractive from the video (http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/1.30-carat-g-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-818681). I also contacted WF, but they were not able to get a ASET of that either. Do you think this 1.3 will be a better performer? or impossible to tell without ASET?
