Final 2 comparison. What do you guys think??? Both have similar clarity.

1) AGSL(000) 1.66 E with HCA=1.0 Table 56, Depth 61.8, Cr 34.3, Pav 40.7

2) GIA Ideal 1.73 G with HCA 1.6 Table 56, Depth 61.9, Cr 35, Pav 40.8.
(how much variance in in true HCA with GIA rounding effect? could it make the HCA >2?)

Anybody????

Both look promising by the numbers.

GIA does not have an ''ideal'' grade. The numbers put it in EX and any variance outside the rounded numbers would not place it outside that. Remember HCA is a rejection tool - neither of these are rejected. Bring on more detailed info, images, etc.

forgive me - I''m a little rusty on this

But really looking at them, they are both nicely with in the AGS Ideal range - even if the the GIA measurments are out by 0.1° on both the crown and pavilion then your looking at a 2.2 HCA score... if one is out then its a 1.8 - really your not going to notice such differances, and your micro analysing something beyond the point you can with the HCA.

watch the video on here with Leonard & James Allen about ''can you tell the differance between 3 ideal cuts?'' even they struggle to tell them apart...

so really it would come down to which is more important to you: the slightly lower weight 1.66 but with a higher colour grade E or the slightly heavier 1.73 G colour - spread wise with only 0.1% in it your talking probly 0.01mm differance in the face up size - something not noticable. So go with the one which either makes you feel more comfortable in respect to colour, is the cheaper... or does the clarity have a bearing (ie is one a SI1 with a large black spot under the table? or are they both ''eye clean'' or happily ''Mind Clean''

does that help at all?
