I am really new to the diamond world and posting on forums. I know that the Hearts and Arrows cut is the best possible cut for a diamond but can a diamond shine more with a fiery ideal cut than a hearts and arrows cut? I read where this can be the case depending on the diamond.
The two terms are mutually exclusive. H&A refers to the optical symmetry of the diamond. It is possible to have H&A symmetry and yet less than ideal proportions and cut. FIC''s are certain type of proportions (shallower pavillion, higher crown, small table) and look.
Any diamond with proportions and angles that work well together can be an outstanding performer, so you really can''t characterize one as better than another.
