Fidelity Diamond

I''m new to the boards, but have been lurking so that I can learn as much as possible leading up to my purchase of an e-ring soon.

Has anyone had any experience good/bad with Fidelity Diamond in NJ.

Have you tried searching for a stone on the Pricescope search engine? What shape do you have in mind?

Fidelity is one of the many B & M stores I have visited in my search for a diamond. I wasn't very impressed with what they showed me. I get the feeling they work with a relatively young crowd (I'm 25, so perhaps I fit with this demographic) that hears about them from radio stations (e.g. 92.3 K-Rock, WFAN, etc.). Level of service was decent, but it didn't compare favorably with what I've experienced from other B & M jewelers. They showed me diamonds of relatively low quality (not too special as far as color, clarity), and they were pushing me on a setting even before showing me diamonds, which I didn't like.

I thought there offices seemed a bit shady too, but that's neither here nor there.

In sum, I wouldn't say I have anything strongly against them, and you might want to see for yourself, but I felt I wasted my time there and wasn't enthusiastic about anything they showed me.

By the way, I live in north NJ, so I can provide feedback about several other B & M experiences if you would like.

Hi Troutster-

I worked with Fidelity diamond for a period of about 3 months. They were very helpful in the sense that they were the first place we really went and sat down to look at diamonds up close and allowed us to really learn the differences between the various "C's". The only negative thing about the process was I felt that they were trying to convince us that any other diamond retailer was lying to us and we would never get a better stone than from them. I felt very pressured into a purchase but that may have just been because we were taking our time making a decision and were working with them for so long.
Also, I didn't like any of their settings and when I was concerned about this I was told that the setting didn't really matter.

Eventually it came down to a diamond from them and a diamond from GOG and we chose the diamond from GOG. We both just got a better feeling from GOG and the service we received there. Plus the diamond was exactly what we were looking for!
