Wedding FI does amazing calligraphy!!!

My amazing FI took some art classes in high school and has occasionally done calligraphy for projects for romantic gifts, etc. Well, he also volunteered himself to do all of the caligraphy for the invites and the wedding placecards. He has done 20+ invites and they look incredible! He is so dilligent about making the lines perfect and I just love how careful and methodical he is. So, I just wanted to share his work!

I have some (very) slight knowledge of calligraphy and I''ve thought of doing my invites, but I know I could never be as patient and diligent as your FI. It''s hard work!

Lucky you! You have a talented fiance!

I love calligraphy. I have some limited experience with it, but I think I''m going to just address envelopes in my regular handwriting; I''m not sure I have the skill to do it as beautifully as I would like. Can you share with us what kind of pens/technique he''s using? I''m curious to know.

HOLY CRAP!! He did such an amazing job! If I were up in the Washington area (and not already married), I''d definitely ask for his work! That''s truly incredible.

Like everyone else said, you are one lucky lady. Especially to have a fiance who is so into the details of your wedding. It''s really nice to know that there are some men out there who don''t just want to take care of the bar and music.

Thanks for your compliments! FI is actually very involved in the wedding which is so nice! We even drove 40 mins. last week to look at linens together Now that is love.

Kittybean- as far as technique, he is so organized. He starts by actually using a ruler to make lines in pencil and then he starts with the letters in the middle and works to the outside to make sure the spacing is perfect. For the first 20 he has done them all in pencil first and then traced them with a waterman pen with a fine tip and dark black ink. We ordered 10 extra envelopes so he is trying to be super careful and I think he wants to keep using the pencil first. After about a day we use this amazing eraser and you cannot even see the pencil marks.

I can''t wait for our guests to get them in the mail!
