Ooh this makes me
http://ruleofreason.blogspot.com/2008/09/palins-down-syndrome-child-and-right-to.htm. I guess pro-choice only means one choice: abortion? As a person who has mentally and physically disabled person in my family..I cannot comprehend how someone could actually write something like this supporting something I thought we had moved past: eugenics.![]()
ETA: Let me clarify before anyone gets offended..by pro-choice I meant this author ONLY. Not anyone here..as I consider myself pro-choice, so I'd be insulting myself as well.

Yeah, that blog made no sense at all to me...Sarah, just speaking as someone who is Pro-Choice, and this is my first time ever to discuss abortion because its such a difficult topic; legislation should never be phrased as an all or nothing...both sides make a mess of it when they go to the extremes. The farthest left advocating for ''partial-birth'' and the farthest right saying, even if Mom dies, the life of the fetus is more important...both are mindless in their rigidity. My hope is to keep abortion, as the Democratic party platform says, ''legal and rare.'' I have been involved several times in friends and students having to make decisions, and I am so glad that there is a decision that can be made. My husband and I are both carriers of a rare genetic disease, we will have to either never have children, or wonder about bringing a child into the world who will have a really hard time of it...and a life expectancy of five to ten years. I am glad to have a choice. Would you want that choice taken from me? Would you want that choice taken away from DiamondFan at 18? My 17yr old drug abusing student? How about your daughter? The extremes are wrong. Abortion is never a great idea, no one rejoices in having that done, but I rejoice that there are decisions that we can make; its not like we can un-invent the procedure. I was just reading your posts and hoped to, i don''t know, relieve some of your frustration.
Well, Moon, at least SHE knows how to send an e-mail . . . which is more than we can say for McCain!
Haha whomever did it just got themselves a date with the FBI...unless, of course, it was Obama's people & he wins.

I agree, having a choice is great, and the extremes drive me nuts..I just think personally once you''ve waited past a certain point..you''ve made your choice to have that baby. What''s the point? Well I''d have to do more research to answer that question definitively, so I am not going to try right now. But like I said..I am pro-choice, but not pro-partial birth abortion and also thank you, I am glad I am not the only one bothered by the article, so you did def. relieve the frustration!

Hackers don''t typically care about getting caught. In fact, depending on how hard it is, hackers get HIRED by companies once they are caught. In this case, I think it was absolutely moronic for her to have sent government related business via a private unsecured email account. Us regular folks get hacked everyday, why did she think she would be immune?![]()
And for the record, I highly doubt the Obama campaign was attempting to mock him for his POW injuries. I can''t imagine that even without them he''d use email. I happen to know a very good friend of McCain''s who uses absolutely no email. He''s a bit older but they''re still of the same generation. The most modern piece of technology I saw that he used was a telephone. It doesn''t mean he is incompetent. Hell, I think he''s brilliant and I have the utmost respect for him, but I would consider him out of touch with many younger Americans (which I think is what Obama was trying to get at).

No I don''t think Obama was trying to mock him in the ad..but I do question whether or not he was trying to mock him at a rally where he described McCain''s ad and posed his shoulders like McCain''s.

We can agree to disagree.
I take all of these things are good signs for McCain; people must really be getting desparate to find some more dirt on her if they're hacking into her email now. She must've been smart enough not to keep anything "bad" in her email. The left-wing bloggers are just as guilty as the hackers themselves. The FBI should swoop in and stop this ASAP; I'd feel that way if ANYONE had this happen to them. If Biden's email got hacked you know that those same bloggers would be furious with conspiracy theories about how McCain's people did it. I'm still waiting on Obama & Biden's expense statements from their years in the Senate...Date: 9/17/2008 10:00:45 PM

Re: Palin's e-mail. Oh my God..and I was starting to calm down!
I am absolutely disgusted about this. And guess what? Her e-mails are now all over the internet..and one left-wing blog has even posted her personal images as well as a voicemail from Bristol. That's right..they called..and recorded a voicemail! But guess what? They still didn't manage to find anything except that she sent some 'state' e-mails from her personal account. Big freaking deal.
These people are facing JAIL TIME. Hacking is a FEDERAL CRIME.![]()

Also, does anyone else think that Obama was dumb to even say anything about using email in his ads? I mean EVERYONE knows that older adults are the biggest voting demographic & literally decide elections...I'm sure some of them don't use email. Plus, whether or not he was mocking McCain you'd think that he wouldn't CONTINUE on saying things that are obviously going to be 'misconstrued' as mockery. If someone can't type on a keyboard because of POW injuries OBVIOUSLY you don't say anything about them not being able to send email. Just seems illogical...
So two illogicals = logical? My point was that Obama has a tendency to do/say something that will be construed in a negative way by many people & then go back & say that he didn't mean it in a certain way. It would just be easier for him to stop & think before doing/saying, correct? (Goes for both candidates, obviously, but we were talking about the Obama ad.)Date: 9/17/2008 10:15:34 PM

No more illogical than repeating the same lies in your ads and speeches over and over again even after they have been proven false countless times and when directly confronted with it, still claim it's not false.![]()
