So yesterday I decided to go and try on ring settings that have tapered baguettes, as this was going to be my new dream setting. They looked horrible on my hand - I thought I would love it but boy was I wrong - they just didn''t suit me. I should have known as it was kind of a whimsicle thing, but I really didn''t think they would look so terrible on me. I have seen many handshots on PS and they look gorgeous on others, just not me.

Unfortunately, the jeweller also carried Tacori (way out of my budget) and I completely fell in love. I knew I shouldn''t try any of them on, but I went for the plunge. The ring I tried was much wider and detailed than I thought I would ever like - but it was perfect on my finger, and nothing else even came close to comparing after that. I have attached some pictures and I thought maybe some PS''ers might have the same one or replicas and tell me a little more about it or include pic''s of their own. The centre would be around 1ct. H colur SI1 cushion cut with a ratio of about 1.1 to 1 very good polish, and very good symmetry. Don''t have the diamond yet but that is my search critera

I loved tacori too... and i still do actually. what made me decide to NOT get a tacori was that i was seeing these Knock-Off Tacori rings and i wanted something pretty unique. i don''t know enough about tacori to REALLY give you advice.. although maybe you could get white gold rather than plat. to cut the costs a bit..just a thought

I would check out Good Old Gold for Tacori rings, people have said they are competative in their pricing. That is a gorgeous ring!!!

Even with taking out a couple of diamonds and doing it in white gold, it is still over my budget1 I did talk to someone who could do one very similar for a bit less. I think I would have to go custom because the plat is way out of the question and I am allergic to nickel, so I would have to at least go 19k gold and Tacori only offers 18k or platinum. I am just afraid that it wouldn''t be as detailed and fine elsewhere, maybe someone on here has a custom replica that they could show picture of!

a coworker of mine has this ring with a 2+ carat cushion in it, it is GORGEOUS!

Are you sure the Tacori price is way too high? Or is your jeweler marking the setting up a lot?

We were pleasantly surprised at the price of my Tacori setting in 2006. Mine has small diamonds to be sure, but there are 32 diamonds in the setting; and yet, it still wasn''t high in our opinion. It certainly compared well to other designers in quality and price.

Oh that is beutiful from one Tacori fan to the next. My husband thought my setting would be too costly in plat nonetheless, but the sales woman actually said it is not as exp. as people think. It also helps that I have a size 4 finger so he was able to order a petite setting which cost less. Not sure what your budget is, but I have always admired Tacori ever since I first started seeing their rings in mags.

I''d take your pic of it to a jeweler and just see if they can give you a quote for a custom piece. Worth a try.
