4A3B6027-22A6-476C-BC45-666B79945BF1.jpeg Had some fun at a deceased estate house auction. Apparently the Mr was a jeweller (though he had passed 20 years earlier than the Mrs). There amongst the antiques was a very sad, dusty cardboard box full stuff including little gemstones in cute little metal and glass tins (photo) so I bought it. Turned out there was also 30 grams of platinum ring heads too. I’m slowly sorting through them all. A lot of tourmaline, Topaz, amythest, spinel and sapphire. All sorts of bits and pieces. So much fun to play with all the little pretties. Heavens knows what I’m going to “do” with a zillion little and not too little gems though.

I would be over the moon if this came my way! I want to know about the little green ones, center, lower half...

Please keep us updated on what you find! How cool!

That is so cool! Great find!

Wow. You must be so excited. What a great find! :mrgreen2:
I hope you share more pics as you go through it.

Wow! See I think that you were meant to buy those and get them into hands that will appreciate them. Karma.

I want to know what that pink stone is in the lower left corner:kiss2:

Great find!

WOW, great find!
Looking forward to reading more, when you're up to it! Would love to know what they all are! :twirl::loopy::lickout:

What fun.......a true treasure hunt! Congrats on giving this "lost box" a good home!

Candy! ;)2 Good job, Bron, it looks like you have some gorgeous small stones with great colors. I'd call them melee, but aren't they too big to be melee? Whatever they are, you did really well and have a whole box of pretties to play with!

So much fun. I woke up this morning with a stiff neck after spending 5 hours yesterday bent over with a loupe examining my way through them.

Love that, such a pretty color:kiss2:

Whatta find!!! I'm jealous!

Wow, just realised that this load of loot is over 50 years old. Apart from the writing being with an ink fountain pen, Australia went metric in 1966 and all the measurements written are imperial ie pre 1966.

What a mix of greens - love all the variations!

Wow!! You hit the jack pot. You truly have a treasure trove. What a ton of fun for you. Thank you for sharing these great pictures.

What a score! I love those blue-greens

:lol:As I’m going through the bigger pieces, nearly all have slight imperfections ie a chip or a natural flaw. I’ve got a dozen nice ones, nice size. Might get them appraised. But the little ones in tins, heavens above, there’s got to be thousands of them. Any ideas, maybe I’ll open an Etsy store $1 a gem !!!!

This is amazing; what a find!!!

Selling some on etsy or elsewhere is a fine idea, but I'd caution you to really make sure you know what you have first!

The bluish green - do you see any colour change or zoning ( particolour stones).

The colour is very uniform in your pics ( maybe the camera..)

I am loving this tread! I keep coming back to see what new gems you have discovered in your treasure box. You have some really beautiful ones. And there seems to be a great variety, too.

Wow absolutely gorgeous!

wow...looks like you hit the jackpot...what a fun find!

That is so cool, you could sell them on Etsy but you need to take them to someone that can tell you if they are lab or real. There is no doubt a mix of both in there.

Maybe some Zircon, Tourmalines and Garnet...Sri Lanka Mix.

OH WOW. What ended up happening with this?!

WOW how wonderful! I would spend my evenings just sifting through all my lovely gems. Enjoy!!

Don't know how I missed this thread originally. How cool is that! I would be in heaven :-) I'd like to hear what all you've found since the initial hunt back in October.
