Since I am so torn on this, I am just putting out feelers. If there is interest, I will do a listing and link to Loupetroop. I do have listings on Loupetroop under the same user name so I can be reached in that way.

This is a 2 carat Blue Sapphire. It is Unheated and not treated in any way. Measurements are 7.45 the depth is 4.80mm. It is round.

I purchased it from Joyce at Salt Gems Co.
Per Joyce: " Definitely the nicest Umba we have cut, the color reminds me of Sri Lankan blues.
It is super blue in direct sunlight, doesn't turn black indoors ( color darkens like any stone would, but you can still see the color of the body). Color shifts to an indigo/purple in warm lighting.
Sprinkling of minor inclusions within, but the are not distracting for the clarity or the color. Joyce says the clarity is VS.
Over all an amazing blue sapphire, perfect for an engagement ring."

The picture's I am listing are Joyce's. If there is interest and a desire for more photo's I will do that.
You will see this sapphire is such an exquisite blue. It did not disappoint when I received it!!!!

Price is firm at 1,850.

Thanks for looking!9AB3FCC1-0C1D-4675-8438-EAC86CA5A24F.jpeg

I'd love to see more pics, please.

@PreRaphaelite I can take some indoors tomorrow as it’s dark here now. We have gotten over a foot of snow today and it’s windy and cold, so outdoors will be a bit. Anything specific you’d like to see? Thanks for asking and I will post pictures tomorrow.

Thank you. I'm interested in seeing the inclusions as my eye tends to gravitate toward them when I look at my own stones. Thanks for adding any video too, especially showing up against other stones you might have for comparison. :-)

Thank you @PreRaphaelite for being specific. I will do that, I do have other stones so I can do a video of them together.

@PreRaphaelite here are some photos- these are the ones where I am by a window. 8FA9E85B-509E-4B42-8E14-5CCD0A3A694F.jpeg8FA9E85B-509E-4B42-8E14-5CCD0A3A694F.jpeg

I will add a couple of videos shortly, I need some help from my daughter;)
I will say this again, I am the worlds worst photographer. Be assured every picture you see, it looks much better in person!

A couple of these photos are magnified by 10.

While I wait for my daughter’s help with the video, here are some pictures with the blue sapphire with some of my other stones.0819A79F-704F-4F71-98DC-93F7B6F6149F.jpeg

Probably seems like a ridiculous request, but if there is any way you could show the stone in comparison to your favourite denim, I'd be grateful. I seem to spend 90% of my life in faded jeans and wondering if this is as close as I think it is.

@PreRaphaelite not ridiculous at all! I’m in the middle of something right now, as soon as I am done I will post a picture with my jeans! Thanks!

Here’s your denim and sapphire pictures @PreRaphaelite hope this helps. Still waiting on my daughter, sorry! Thank you!E4B4D95D-F414-448A-9875-9E37C456E655.jpeg

We found out last week that James, my sweet little foster-fail boycat, is actually a girl! (The relevant details were obscured by her fluffitude.) And poor sweet James started her first heat cycle today, only 12 days before her long-awaited appointment to be neutered—er, spayed.

She's been singing the song of her people all day and night long. She desperately wants a paramour, but girlfriend is not leaving this room. Now please excuse me while I go grab a heating pad for her. One of us needs to get some sleep!

This is so beautiful! I really understand your hesitancy to let it go.

I've decided to stay focused on matching a stone I already have so I will step back, but it must be said that this stone is absolutely gorgeous and with fewer limits to my bling budget I'd already be planning a setting for her!

I hope whoever winds up with this sapphire adores her and wears her often. Such a compelling stone! Dust for quick sale or maybe you'll decide to keep. Either way many thanks for photos and video and best wishes!!

Thank you @PreRaphaelite for letting me know your decision. What stone do you have that you are trying to match? Are you going to be having a ring made? New projects are so exciting!!!

Thank you for the lovely compliments. I still feel like somewhat of a novice when it comes to gemstones. Coming from you that is high praise indeed! I am in awe of your gorgeous collection!

You're welcome, some day I hope to get better at taking photos and videos. It hasn't happened yet!

Thanks again and good luck on finding your matching stone!

I love the word fluffitude! How many foster cats do you have? How long have you been fostering? Thank you for doing that- such a huge need for these kittens/cats.
I bet that was a surprise! You were so close! Can she still keep her spay appointment?

I have had more male fur babies than female. They were all spayed before their first cycle. I have not experienced the singing or the wanting of a paramour lol
It's sounding like I dodged a bullet! After we had our twins, I was pretty certain my days of sleepless nights were over for good! I will be 60 this year and am not up for sleepless nights! Though let's be real, I would do anything for my babies and my grands!

I hope you got some sleep and that James is having a better day today!

Thank you for your kind words, PeppermintPatty! Your sapphire is an absolute heartsong of a stone and I just know someone will adore her. Your taste is exquisite! Are you sure you want to let her go?

For now, I've decided to send off this stone (currently without name) to be matched for earrings. She's almost invisible on my skin (which makes for an interesting effect) and I hope her lower colour will mean a match closer to my budget.

@PreRaphaelite thank you for saying such nice things about my sapphire. I had always dreamed of having an unheated Ceylon blue sapphire. I didn't feel I would have the budget or want to spend the amount that would cost. When I saw this on Salt Gems Co on Instagram it was love at first sight! At 2,500 price I felt like I won the lottery! I am not sure and I rarely waver so I keep telling myself it will work out the way it's suppose to...

Oh my! I can see why you are going with the match!!!! It is so good! Just stunning, a very special diamond!!!! That crown!!! All of the fire down towards the culet!!! I love lower colors. Whomever is trying to match this needs to be both good at matching and lucky! She is one in a million. So many beautiful settings for this, I can't wait to see how you set them. Knowing you the setting will be exquisite!!!

Hi @niteowlsam you're welcome. It is a stunning sapphire, thank you. I have never set this sapphire so I don't feel I have the advantage of seeing it in a lot of different types of lighting like I would if I were wearing it.
In my opinion from photo's and video's I did, I would say yes it does. I would also say of all of the gemstones I have purchased- way too many to count- no one takes photo's or video's like Joyce at Salt Gems Co.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
