Hi everyone! I''ve started sending the inquiries out to vendors regarding the radiant cut diamond I am looking for. I''ve done WF, and Quest. Anyone else I should try? I''m letting everyone know that I am asking different places, and don''t expect to buy for another two months. Thanks in advance!

It''s because I''m almost as excited as you are to see your soon-to-be radiant!

Two months and counting! I''m thinking that maybe with my raise, and the tax return I''ll be getting, I might be able to get it sooner!!!! The boyfriend said maybe...
Which is why I''m totally looking now.

All the ones I would recommend have already been mentioned. Good luck!!!

Thank you all!

Amberwaves,

I''m going through your exact situation. I''ve been trying to find a radiant for a couple of months now. It has been a challenge to find one based on the numbers. I''m picky about the shape (I want one with a length/width ratio between 1.1 and 1.2) so the choices are limited, and it''s nearly impossible to find one with the 65/65 portions and a crown height above 10% based on the recommended specs on this site. I guess I was further limiting myself by wanting to stay in the E-G and VS1-SI1 categories. I finally saw a couple of Original Radiants today, and they were gorgeous. I''m still torn by the fact that they sell at a premium, but I had a couple radiants on hand that I had selected from another vendor and were able to compare them side by side. There was a big difference in cut quality. You should consider looking at some originals compared to the nonbranded ones and see what you think. I may just say "what the heck" and go for the more expensive one now that I''m constantly thinking about it. My hubby won''t mind that much, right?

I wanted to add that I was looking for a radiant in a fairly narrow 2 ct range, so there may not be too much availability. If you''re open to a wider range where there is more inventory, maybe you''ll be able to find the perfect nonbranded radiant more easily. Good luck!!

I definitely know what you are getting ready to go through. I have been searching for a radiant for the last month for my girlfriends engagement ring. I found this chart http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc2.asp especially helpful when locating the radiant that I am considering purchasing. In my opinion Whiteflash and James Allen have been the best vendors to deal with. I chose to go with James Allen because they give you 30 days to return the ring where Whiteflash only gives you 10. I found that the majority of the radiants that I found were available from either JA or WF. I also would definitely recommend going to the AGA website and looking at the "Old DIY Cut Grading" system that D. Atlas has come up with to grade the cut of a diamond that you are considering. Hope this helps and best of luck to you in your search for the perfect radiant. If you do not mind me asking what size radiant are you looking for?

Hi guys, I''m very excited about the radiant. I tried on all the different cuts and sizes, and finally decided on getting a radiant. I just love the crushed glass look, too. I''m currently dealing with Ron at Whiteflash, but I also have Quest looking for me, too. I have tried James Allen, but so far have not heard anything back. I did see some great stones, but I keep getting thrown off by the depth and tables.

I have also looked at the chart, which is a godsend. GOG sent me some ideas for stones and one of them had a depth of 97! I mean, come on!
25.gif
I had my eye on a great radiant from WF, it was .83 carats and everything was perfect, but when I asked for the certs it was already sold.

It was less than a day! I didn''t even get to say, yes, we want to see it. I''ve tried Diamonds by Lauren (thanks Ebree!), and although I loved the radiants they had, the price wasn''t optimum. Actually, the price wasn''t even "Opt" much less the "imum". And the colors are always throwing me off. The cuts are STUNNING, which goes to show you pay for what you really want! I''m still looking for a .75 to 1.02, and I''m willing to spend up to 2600.00, but preferably not that high. We already have the setting, so it''s all waiting for the stone. I gave Ron notification that we''ll need it by Mid March, maybe end of March.

I''m so excited.

Amber, I am sooooo excited for you!!!

It's so crazy to see you actually plowing through potential stones, and already with the setting!!! You're 90% there, and I CANNOT WAAAIIIIIT to see that ring (ahem, with center stone!

) on your finger!!!!!!!!

I know, Albi. I feel like such a loser with the setting on my finger at home, looking at it.. Walking the dog with it on. Well, Paul finally took it away from me.
15.gif
I was bad. Still, not too far away! You know, waiting for a year wasn''t as hard as waiting for the next month and a half!!
32.gif

Hahaha, walking the dog with it?? He was probably right to take it away then, before you started showing it off to your friends and family!
5.gif
(not that I totally wouldn''t have done the same thing myself in your situation...
31.gif
) But seriously, this will be better because then you''ll have more of a surprise element when you''re reunited with your setting in it''s completed form! And I know it''s sooooooooo hard when you know it''s right around the corner, but you''re ALMOST THERE!!!! SOOOO CLOSE!!!!!

[One thing I found helps is NOT looking at your hand, but just imagining that the ring is on it and visualizing what it would look like at the angle your hand is at now, etc, and pretending it''s already there.
31.gif
I started doing that a couple weeks before I got mine and I swear I half convinced myself I already had a ring!

Yeah, I felt like a total moron, but I just wanted to see how it would sparkle at night!
12.gif
It would be different if it was just a plain solitaire, becuase then I would wear it for a few minutes and see how it looks, but because there are side stones, I think it''s a GOOD thing for me to wear it out!
11.gif
Honestly, I''m fine with having it taken away, that way it will be kind of a surprise when I get it. Although, I did draw it on my finger yesterday, I wanted to see how it would look with the radiant. I am so lame. He told his mom about the setting and she offered us her 2 carat RB. I wish I could have taken it, but I wouldn''t do that, her husband gave it to her before he passed away, and it''s now a sweet memory for her. It''s getting closer now!!
