Hi guys,

What do you all think about the stones below? I am still looking at other options, but these looked good for my 5k budget. I am continuing to look for other options in my price, but wanted to share these and get you thoughts. Any feedback you could provide is appreciated.

the image for the princess cut is not an ASET image...idealscope maybe? ask if you can get an ASET. Also, I would be concerned with the very thin girdle...check with the vendor about durability.

Also, what do you think about the James Allen options below? James Allen has a great rep as a supplier of clean diamond on this forum, so I was curious. Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

Thnaks you! I checked this princess under the ASG and it ranked it low(most ranking were good but overall it was bad). I know the numbers are subjective, so I am hoping the long time experts like you will be able to give me some realistic feedback. I have this thing that if I have to get a princess, it has to be atleaat 1.15 or higher so that it looks similar to a 1 carat round(I know rounds with a great cut look bigger). I have to add that I don't like the crushed ice look and don't know if this princess diamond will produce one(waiting for ASET) but this is a very big purchase for me (have been saving forever!), so want to make sure I get the biggest bang for my buck. Based on the images I provided, do you think this is a good deal for under 5.5k?

What shape does she want. Some people can have very firm opinions on whether they will like a princess or like a round.
I think the Princess is the nicer of the two, but if she prefers a round we can find you a great round with very little effort.

She prefers a princess more than a round. My goal is to get her something that is over 1.15ct with overall budget of 6k with the setting included as well(want something with side stones). Any good options you could help find would be great.

Is this princess cut one you found at a local jeweler?

In my experience, James Allen has the lowest prices on loose stones. I would check out similar stones from them and see how the price of your princess compares. James Allen will provide ASETs upon request. Also, their gemologist will be honest with you and tell you if the stone is good or not.

I like the princess cut you posted the pic of. At JA I like the first one (1.22) but don't like the others...since you can request 3 ASETs I would switch the last 2 out for some other choices. If you post your budget we can find some for you.

Otherwise - what sort of setting are you thinking about? More complex settings can eat a surprising chunk of the budget, but for the sake of finding stones let's assume you're going with a simple solitaire ~1k:
