Hi Everyone, @rockysalamander has been very helpful in another thread, talking me through the online diamond selection process. I've narrowed my options to three from James Allen -- the last two have IdealScope images. JA is checking on IS for the first, but at this point it seems unlikely the international supplier can provide it. I was looking for 1.5ct H+ ~$10k stone to set with platinum pave band.

I wanted to create another thread to see if there's any more feedback about these stones. The IS images seem similar to me - does either have an edge? See any inclusion red flags? Anything else I should do before purchasing one? Thanks!

A) 1.50ct H SI1 - $10,310 - https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...h-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3397775; GIA Report: https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=7258232396
Cut/Polish/Symmetry: Excellent; Fluorescence: None; Girdle: Med-S-Thick (4.0%)
Depth: 62.5%; Table: 56%; Crown: 35.5°; Pavilion: 40.6°; HCA: 1.4 (Ex-Ex-Ex-VG)
7.31 x 7.26 x 4.56mm; SI1 but seems eye-clean(?); Supplier outside US; IS likely not possible

I like #2. It's a beautiful IS, not too deep (#1 is borderlining on deep), not 60/60 (which #3 is leaning towards). As long as it's eye clean, that would be my pick. Oops. Brb. Forgot to look at the videos.

Hmmm. Based on the video, I prefer #1. #2 looks really tinted for an H.

Anyone else?

I like #2 cut best. FIC. Wouldn't trust colour on videos they are not standardised. JA gemologist can more accurately comment on colour comparisons for these stones for you. A GIA H should be fine regardless.

I went with B / #2. Thanks @HappyNewLife and @gm89uk for your opinions above and @rockysalamander for all of your help in another thread! I'm trusting that GIA H color holds up well despite B / #2's video looking a little more tinted. I agree it's tough to judge these videos since they're not completely standardized. I got a 3.5% discount for mentioning internet forums / PriceScope - nice!

I'll likely have it set at a local jeweler since my GF liked their setting and I haven't found anything very similar online. Can't wait to see the stone in person :)

Great! Post pics when you get the diamond. Make sure the diamond is insured once you take possession and during setting - by you. Jewellers Mutual covers stones during setting, not sure that any others do.
