Hi, May I have your advice towards this diamond (PHOTO ATTACHED)? fancy deep grayish yellowish green diamond, GIA SI2 clarity. Is the feather a risk to durability? Many thanks for your reply.

Looks as thought the feather is touching the girdle. Since it is an SI2 stone, the feather may be a crack on the surface of the stone and I would caution you to check this out and discuss with the vendor. I'm certainly not an expert however I would be hesitant to purchase an SI2 stone with a feather that visible. Again, talk to the seller and confirm how significant the feather is. Good luck. :wavey:

Does it have a GIA report? That color is not very valuable and with that clarity, you should be paying very little for that stone. I would be more worried about the value than the feather to be honest. I have a 1 carat champagne diamond with a surface reaching feather, and it is fine. I would just avoid putting it in an ultrasonic cleaner. My stone is bezel set. With such a prominent feather, I would not conclude that was an SI2 stone.

Unfortunately I think the poster is trying to get a green diamond in the 1 carat range for around $3k. I just dont think she/he will
find any attractive green diamonds in that size/budget.

Hi, thanks for sharing your thoughts, it is GIS SI2, Some people think the feather is not a durability problem, some told me just pass. :wall: ,

But does it have a GIA report noting the clarity? There is a difference between a vendor report and an actual GIA lab report. Vendors can be more generous than the GIA if you know what I mean.

What you are doing is called cross-posting, and it violates PS rules.

Keep it up and people will stop opening your threads and you get NO answers.

In defense to the OP - I think she's new and doesn't know how PS works.

To register at PS you have to state that you read PS policies and agree to follow them.

Here's PS Policy # 7D ... "Cross posts of the same or similar threads in multiple forums will be removed."

You can find them at the bottom of this page under Forum Policy.

Whatever Kenny. There's a kind way and not so kind way to tell someone that they're doing something wrong. Chrono already did a nice job of explaining to OP what they were doing incorrectly. If they don't learn from their first mistake then maybe rip them a new one..... :naughty: :angryfire:

Hello, everyone,

Yes, I should read the policy first before the post. I was just eager to know people's ideas and had neglected everything.

And, to my point of view, if any user who breaks the rule unintentionally, it it good and necessary to remind them in a friendly way. I think it is a good way to send a rule reminder email instead of to criticize in the Forum.
