Red Mango....ice cream.....BUBBLE TEA!!!!
1.gif
I''m dying to try this Bubble Tea...

must find!

Oh my goodness, it is so delicious. I haven''t found good bubble tea since I left Boston, sadly, until recently. Found this amaaazing teahouse in the E. Village with great bubble tea. And a great dessert place with great fruit tarts. And a fantastic ice cream place. Anyone in NY want to do a dessert/bubble tea run with me?

Feel better, Freke!

Summer Desserts: ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, and more ICE CREAM. And frozen yogurt.

But I eat and love ice cream all year round even if its 10 degrees outside, so I don''t know if it''s necessarily a summertime dessert

They''re all in the E. Village.

For ice cream: Sundaes n Cones, on 10th and 3rd.

For bubble tea: Saints Alp Teahouse, on 9th and 3rd (love how those two are so close to each other - dangerous for me!)

For dessert, great cheesecake and fruit tarts: Veniero''s, on 11th and 1st.

I love stewed fruits and custard- not very summery, but there you go.
I just bought a huge amount of baklava on my way home. I was supposed to split it with BF, but he was nt home, and I just ate it all myself- it was really yummy, but I do feel a bit sick now.
Hope you feel better soon Frekechild. Sore throats are horrible!

What is bubble tea?

Are you guys referring to Boba tea when you say bubble tea?
The cold smoothie-ish type with the big tapioca balls? :-)
LOL, I had no idea what you were talking about at first... yeah, in Cali, it''s Boba... you can usually get it at the places that serve pho (which is DELISH during the cold seasons :) )

Fresh raspberries topped with whipped cream.
That is what I was going to say. DH and I just discovered that we have 4 raspberry bushes! In different parts of the yard too.

It''s also known as boba tea (that''s actually what I called it when I was in Boston) but there are a few different kinds (the smoothie type you''re talking about, and then just plain milk tea, and then flavored versions of both). And tapioca balls - though I don''t care for them so I never get them. Basically, what it is is black tea with milk...but I don''t know how or why, but it tastes different from the shops and teahouses than what I''ve tried making at home!

Ice cream, no matter what season it is. I've been really liking plain vanilla ice cream lately.

Rita''s Water Ice... the chocolate flavor
18.gif
What is Rita''s Water Ice...? Ice cream/sorbet? I''ve never heard of it...
1.gif
It''s a Jersey thing...I know because my brother lives there now and his wife explained to me that it was a ''Jersey thing.''

It''s like slush but thicker. Comes in all different types of flavors and they put a big dollop of soft serve ice cream in it. It''s good.

I didn''t realize Rita''s wasn''t national... I''d describe it as a really creamy snow cone. And they give out free ones on the first day of spring. If you get a dollop of ice cream in it, it''s called a gelati. And the fruit flavored ones (mango, cherry, etc) are really good mixed with vodka

I''d go through serious withdrawl if I had to move out of the area!

I wanna try this bubble tea, too!!!

My fave summertime dessert is fresh, seasonal fruit. Cherries, peaches, whatever.

although I also really like a good frozen yogurt - creamy or tangy, either way. And I''m in love with Capogiro gelato from Philly.

can we say cravingggggg all the above ^

ALL Fruit and lots of it!

ooops, I forgot cantaloupe - yummy! everone in my family loves them,

Dang it, reading this thread means now I''m going to have to hit the frozen yogurt place on my way home. This will be the 2nd time in 3 days! They have 16 flavors and a cookies and cream frozen yogurt that I just can''t get over. I don''t even like cookies n cream ice cream, and this frozen yogurt is just so good.

Peaches and ice cream. Its something my family does: peel and slice peaches, add scoops of vanilla ice cream and a little cinnamon. Let the ice cream melt some, and yuuuummmm.

Oh, and ice cream sandwiches.

Homemade Georgia Peach Cobbler served warm out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
