I''ve been out with horrible back pain since Thursday morning, and it doesn''t look like I''ll be going anywhere this weekend. I''ve already plowed through four books, so now I''m looking to curl up with a good movie and some microwave popcorn.

What are your favorite feel-good movies? Hubby''s going to rent some for me for the weekend.

Here are a few of my favorite feel-goods:
When Harry Met Sally
Beautiful Girls
Dan in Real Life
The Family Man
The Big Chill
Something to Talk About
When a Man Loves a Woman
Notting Hill
Love, Actually
Breakfast at Tiffany''s

I really want to see Friends With Money and Life as a House, anyone seen those? Feedback?

Thanks!

Babe! It''s not just for kids! :)

Legally Blonde (1 and 2)
50 First Dates
The Wedding Singer
The Princess Diaries

I've got some favourite movies that tend to put a smile on my face! They are:

Grosse Point Blank (love love looove John Cusack!)
Bridget Jones' Diary
The Princess Bride
Dogma
Shaun of the Dead
Miss Congeniality

So sorry your back is hurting, sweetie. Feel better soon!

Life as a House was a great movie, but I don''t know about feel good...very touching but sad at the same time. Totally worth watching though.

Friends with Money was interesting, but not what I expected at all. It was...odd. I don''t know how else to describe it. lol.

I love a lot of movies that have been posted already.

Serendipity! One of my favorite movies.

IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU with nicholas cage

this is the ULTIMATE feel good movie of all time.

The divine secrets of the ya-ya sisterhood
Fried green tomatoes

I love the first two Anne of Green Gables mini-series...my Mom and I laugh through the whole thing.

Also...
Pride and Prejudice (the mini-series)
Field of Dreams
Princess Bride
Love, Actually ( I love the wedding with the band!)

I know there is more, but I am not at home to look through my movies.

anything with Colin Firth or Hugh Grant is on my list...and both of them is just too much greatness to handle! I also love When Harry Met Sally, Someone Like You, My Cousin Vinny, The Princess Bride, and Nothing to Lose for laughs, and How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days because that man is FAR too gorgeous to be legal!

Serendipity! One of my favorite movies.

YESSS! One of my favorites!
Pride and Prejudice, too.

Haven, When Harry Met Sally is at the top of my list, too! I adore that movie. Some others that make me smile (or laugh out loud):

Napoleon Dynamite
Caddyshack
Wedding Crashers
Sleepless in Seattle
Moonstruck (with Cher--a must-see in my book)
Sex & the City (watching a few episodes always cheers me up)
Chocolat
Singing in the Rain
Dirty Dancing
Elf

The princess bride is always a favorite! I also really like my best friend''s wedding for some reason. But my REAL favorites are Weekend at Bernies and Weekend at Bernies 2! Always great for a laugh! My mom says they''re stupid though. But they sure make me feel good

I hope your back gets beter soon!

Friends With Money was depressing to me. I guess you''d have to see it to understand why. It wasn''t one of those great chick flick movies you may shed a few tears over for the RIGHT reasons. I didn''t cry or feel liberated as a woman, like I love to feel after watching feel-good movies. After you see it, I''d like to explain why I didn''t like it. . .but, cannot at this point

I hate giving away endings.

I have a TON of favorites, but my kids are bugging me to get on the computer. lol. . .so just a quick couple:

Muriel''s Wedding
Bridget Jones'' Diary
Under the Tuscan Sun
Legally Blonde

I love feel-goods so much and NEED them for emotional impowerment when living in a house full of guys. I do have a girl cat, but she is kind of a brat and will purr one minute and then bite me the next. She does watch movies with me, though, so she has her good moods and can be a sweetie at times. She will watch the chick flicks while sitting on my lap and let me pet her the whole time and then will bite me after the movie is over!

Shrek movies
Meet the Fockers and Meet the Parents
THe NOtebook
Under the Tuscan Sun
Dirty Dancing
Erin Brockovich
Oceans 11, 12 and 13
Thelma and Louise
Big Mama''s House
Wedding singer
50 first dates
Never Been Kissed
Mr and Mrs Smith
The Break Up
Rumor Has it
The Bourne Movies
Sex in the City--more recent
Kung Foo Panda was a good movie

I can''t think of anymore at this time...I will see what I can come up with....

I love all of these great feel-good suggestions, thank you everyone!

MC--We''re watching Friends With Money right now. (It''s on pause so DH can feed all of our furbabies. I figured I''d check in.)
I''m loving it thus far, but we''re probably only 45 minutes into the movie; I can''t wait to hear what you have to say about it. I love talking movies!

I''ve never seen The Notebook? I know, it''s a crime. I''ll rent it the next time DH is out of town.

We also rented Running With Scissors. I know it''s not a feel-good, but I loved the book so I had to get it when I saw it on the shelf. I have a huge list of must-sees now, though, thanks to all of you!

I should have started a favorite feel-good NOVELS thread, maybe when I have more time . . .

The great news is that I went with DH to Blockbuster. I moved really slowly, and getting in and out of our Civic was painful, but it''s the first I''ve been out of the house since Wednesday, so it felt really good. And the more I walked the easier it was, so that felt great. Now I''m back to being propped up by three and surrounded by countless others, but the trip out was nice.

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep ''em coming!

Love Actually!

Just saw that was on your list. Oops!

Definitely, Maybe is a cute romantic comedy I've seen recently.

While You Were Sleeping is always a favorite.

I hope you feel better soon!

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Singin in the Rain
The Wedding Date
Knocked Up
Mean Girls
The Parent Trap
Fried Green Tomatoes
Sister Act
