Please tell us whats your favourite type or suggest other types that haven't been listed

Please add reasons why you chose as well

Antique chunky - love the big flashes of fire and color and the faint checkerboard pattern I can see in my diamond.

These options don't make sense to me.

Cushion Modern( crushed ice)/Brilliantered <- what's brilliantered?
Cushion Antique(chunky look)/Step cut <- these are completely different things
Cushion brilliant modified <- there are a wide range of modified brilliant cushions (of which #1 above is one)

You are missing the very popular True Antique OMC.

What about Non-branded Newly Cut Antique Cushions?

What about Cushion Brilliant (non-modified)?

Thanks , please add images of the relevant cushion cut types .

Great thread , ah maybe you should host this poll.

I second cushion brilliant, I have one. Its actually an old OMC but according to GIA its a cushion brilliant.

True antique OMC is my vote. Love the chunky facets.

Step cut, asscher, I assume you included this because a square shape could be considered cushion.

I just bought a 1.33 AVC K color for a pendant that is due to arrive this week (tomorrow maybe).. I chose the AVC from GOG because it was simply the best stone for the pastel color and brilliance and it was a AGS0.. I will post a pix or two after I get it. I also felt a bit loyalty as much of what I have learned about cushions has been on the GOG site.. I also liked Victor Canera cushions and they were cheaper but I decided on GOG because the jewlery company put so much information out there for me to read... the crushed ice is not for me but their sparkle cannot be denied.

Are these antique cut or vintage antique cut ah please some explain the difference. ;(

Vintage/antique is the same thing. Described older cut styles for cushions with the fatter facets. These two are non-branded versions and I think they are both very nice examples.

There is no question that AVCs are cut really well and reflect bright light. I do find true antiques reflecting more pastels though but it is hard to stereotype as each stone is individual.

Hi Charmy! I finally got an AVC for myself--your tutorial was extremely helpful! Can't spill the beans just yet but I'm talking to SK regarding a potential setting!

A time would have been helpful. They are all modern cushions, some more attractive than others.
