Hi All,

It's a big ask, but if anyone knows of a fancy light yellow radiant-cut diamond with an AGA 1A-1B cut in the 0.8-1.0 carat range, I would absolutely love to hear from you.

Thanks,

Tom

You may be looking for a needle in a haystack.

And I'd take a properly-taken backlit ASET image over AGA ratings any day.

I'd just buy an ASET scope and just start buying diamonds one by one from vendors with good return policies.
Or take it to New York or Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv.

Thanks Kenny,

Do you have any tips on how I might choose those diamonds that are worth ordering in the first place? I know broadly what I am after, but as a newbie it's easy to get caught up in AGA ratings - even if they are only meant as a guide.

P.S. Saw your collection in another thread and was mightily impressed!

Frankly if an FCD doesn't have leakage, it's well enough cut in my book to give it a look (buy and maybe return).
Ask an FCD vendor you feel you can trust, and avoid stones more shallow than 60%.

FCDs are rare, and you are further limiting your selection by weight, cut shape, and a single color grade.

White diamonds are SO relatively plentiful that I'm VERY picky about cut with those.
Some of my FCDs with superb color have horrid cut, windowing even.
I still love them.

BTW, don't let me tell you what to do.
I got some nice FCDs and can take one hell of a macro pic but keep in mind I'm just one person with one opinion.

Thanks Again,

I don't suppose you know of any good online retailers?

I know of fancydiamonds,77diamonds, bluenile...

Thomas

Thanks Julie.

Again, if anyone knows of any Yellow/Fancy Light Yellow Radiant-Cuts with a decent AGA rating (the best I've come up with is a 3A) - would love to hear from you.

In the meantime, I shall make contact with dealers to get their opinion on the stock they do have with a view to ordering something.

Thomas

AGA was made for use with white diamonds, it doesn't apply to colored.
