I read somewhere on Diamondtalk that F color in anything over .5ct is actually concidered near colorless. Can someone confirm. I looked on GIA's website but didn't find any info.
Thanks
Joe.
F is near colorless in any size - but the bigger the stone the easier color is to see.
A .50 F vS1 would cost 10% less than a DVS1.
A 5.00ct FVS1 would cost 22% less than a DVS1.
Joe, I remember reading that on DiamondTalk as well, and not agreeing with it. I don't believe that it is correct to use the "near colorless" term for F color, even in the larger sizes. Although it is true that a larger diamond will show it's color more, the D,E,&F grades are categorized as "colorless".
