I''m wanting to splurge on some new eyeshadow. I think I want to try Stila, based on recommendations I''ve read on here in past posts.

I have big brown eyes, brown hair and a very light ivory complexion with pinkish undertones. I usually wear brown shadows or a smoky grey. Whenever I''ve had my make-up done professionally, it''s always been browns, but there are so many shades of brown, I never quite feel like I''ve found the right one. I''ve tried plums in the past, but never felt it''s a good color for me -- makes my eyes look reddish and unrested.

So, does anyone have any favorite brown shadows they''d recommend, or another shade or brand recommendation?

Thanks!!

I also wear neutrals. Two of my favorite palettes are the Lorac Croc Palette and the Stila Blue Orchid Palette.

ETA - I'm blonde with Fair skin tone and Hazel eyes.

Oh and I LOVE the Old Skool eyeshadow palette by Hard Candy.

I love Stila eyeshadows. There is a great gold-brown called Jezebel. I wear it every day.

My coloring is different that yours...I have black hair, blue eyes and olive undertones, but I think this color looks great on anyone.

I love clinque eye shadow- the color combo I wear is called beach plum (or maybe it''s the colors beach and plum?) anyways the colors are neutral- the beach is a golden beige and the plum is a golden purple. It''s gorgeous. I have green eyes, so brown is pretty close.

I love Nars eyeshadow. They are pricey but it is so worth it because of the complexity of their colors. The 2 browns you will love are Fez (velvety cocoa with shimmer)and Galapagos (rich bronze with gold flecks). HTH!

If you have brown eyes, you can wear any color.

I like blues with brown eyes. My personal favorite.

Thanks for the recommendations ladies!

LA Jennifer - I am going to have to track down the Blue Orchid palette! Thank you!

Giada - I will check out the Jezebel shade, although it might not show up as well on my pale, pale skin. I''ve noticed that light shimmery shadows just blend into my skin tone. Maybe I can find it at Sephora!

IloveAsschers13 - Golden Purple might work for me as a non-brown option!

Zhuzhu - I had never considered Nars, but will definitely check out those shades!

IHC - Thanks, I''ve never thought of blue as a shade I should wear.

Love Nars too. I have dark brown eyes/dark hair and almost always wear brown and ivory shadow. My Nars eyeshadow due is called India Ink. I also love wearing darker, smoky purples, it really sets off brown eyes. I like deep purple eyeliner too...it really doesn''t look crazy, it''s just something fun and different. Plums don''t look good on me either, the shade of purple can''t have much red in it.

Ditto to this - beach plum is awesome! it is a gold/purple duo and looks amazing on my friend with green eyes (would look great on brown eyes too). It does NOT, however, look good on me b/c i have blue eyes.

My favorite brown/gold eyeshadows are by MAC - they are amazing and reflect a lot of light. The only eyeshadow i have ever used an entire pot of is "woodwinked" - it's brownish gold and very very shimmery without being glittery. It does not look very pretty on the website, but in real life it's quite lovely. I also liked "retrospeck" - which is much more gold than brown.

I actually like the line of eye shadows that Kohls has...Flirt....they are about $10 each but they last forever and they are great.

Also check out this place...
www.elf.com
Eyes, Lips Face is a great way to try stuff out and its the same quality if not better than some of the more expensive brands. I used to wear alot of Lancome and Clinique make up but this place is super cheap and their quality is really amazing for the price.

ETA:

I am a strawberry blone with really pale skin and freckles. I have blue eyes and I wear alot of golden tones of eye shadow.

Flirts line i use Honey Lemonade and Funny Hunny and Peach Champagne

Ebay is a great source to try any of these recommendations.
