Sounds like you already made your decision. I tried to enter in HCA cut advisor and it didn''t give me a number but said
"Shallow pavilion can cause a fish-eye. Should not be considered for purchase."

If your girlfriend wants an SI1, that is why people are saying maybe reconsider, because with that cert most likely that stone will be a lower clarity than you thought. It''s better to get a diamond with one good quality cert than to get one with a mediocre cert and then get it recerted. You have to pay money for that new cert, plus you may get bad news on the new grading.

EGL is softer than GIA/AGS and EGL israel is probably softer than EGL USA, but experts would know better on the last part. I wouldn''t send the stone to HRD or IGI b/c as storm mentioned they are just as bad. I''d only bother to send it to AGS or GIA.
Hey KC, just a mention that HRD actually enjoys a reputation for top grading standards. They''re just not as present on this side of the pond as AGS and GIA.

Edited to add: Just saw Junior''s reply. Sorry for the double comment. As a FYI, many manufacturers are located in Belgium, so the relative standards get compared all the time.

Koursie, no worries! I only am familiar with HRD as I am on the other side of the pond and I have seen it mentioned in some very old threads!

Thanks for your reply Part Gypsy, I have indeed made my decision and I am now looking for a well-oriced GIA certed stone. I was offered a 2.02ct G SI1 GIA for $14800 which sounds great. the HCA gave it 4 x VG!

Thanks, and good luck on your search! Sounds like she is a lucky lady!
