Expert opinion needed on making e-band into e-ring

Does anyone know if it is possible for a jeweler to add a head to this eternity band for a 1.6 RB?????


OR has anyone seen a e-ring setting like this?

memoire and Ritani both make single prong settings like the you posted that is made for an e-ring. pearlmans carries both designers and you can see pics on their website.

Not an expert, but am interested to know how this could be made into one that would fit a 1.6 rb....I have seen an e-ring similar worn by an old classmate. Loved it.

It it is definately possible to convert your existing band to an ering. Whether it is in 14W or platinum, you should have it laser welded with a platinum "peg head". You will have to drop a diamond, or use the blank spot on the back of the shank to insert the peg. The peg head can be soldered or welded directly into the hole behind one of your existing diamonds.

Your center diamond may stick up a bit; make sure the prongs are nice and smooth and they dont catch on sweaters, etc.

Price will vary where you live and where you go for this service.

A peg head for a 1ct. round setting:

14KWG- 40 to 50 for setting, 50 for labor= $90 to $100
PLAT- 130 to 200 for setting, 65 for labor= $185 to $265

This is with stuller (most jewelers order from this manufacturer) item number #311

Again, these prices will vary, mostly due to the settings weight- whether you want a heavier or lighter setting.

yea it can be done but making it look good is another story.
carefully examine a head just sitting on top of it before going forward with it.
