Hello everyone,

I am not quite skillful in assessing diamond quality. Thus, I am considering diamonds (round shaped) with GCAL 8x reports to be on the safer side. However, unlike with IGI/GIA full reports, GCAL report does not showcase whether diamond was colour treated. Neither does it show detialed plot of the inclusions.

Could someone please have a look at the diamond sold on Adiamor for me:

https://www.adiamor.com/Lab-Diamonds/1.23-ct-E-VS2-Affinity-Cut-Round-Diamond/D64507540?rfr=search.

How would you assess it in terms of quality and price? What are your thoughts on Adiamor as a Vendor? is the indication of colour treatment and detailed plot in reports of paramount importance?

Would you have better suggestions of a round shaped lab diamond in 1 - 1.3. ct weight range. Ideally in 700 USD range. I am not fixiated on GCAL reports, but as I mentioned the reason for considering it is to be on the safer side in terms of beyond 4C's characteristics, that require more expertise to assess.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, G--!
My opinion: it's overpriced and a bit grainy from the CVD growth method. I think that you can do much better!
Id be happy to help you and make some recommendations.
Are you planning to purchase from Adiamor?
What carat range?
Is $700 about the price cap for your budget?

Thank you very much for your prompt response!

Yes, I was planning to choose Adiamor as a vendor.
1 ct would totally suffice. However up to 1.3. ct is ok.
700 USD is a preferable range.

Excited to await your response.

In addition to the center stone, I am also looking for melee diamonds in princess shape, 15 stones, total ct weight of about 0.5 ct (approximately 0.03 ct each). However, to the best of my knowledge it is not sold in such a small quanitity. Are there any vendors who sell melee diamonds in such a quantity?

Easy-peasy: you have ample budget to get over the 1.50 carat mark if you wanted to, but here's a 1.23 D VVS1 clean HPHT with tight cut precision and the hearts and arrows designation on the IGI grading report for under $350. Adiamor has it listed for substantially more, so you'd need to request a price match. I can post the links to Adiamor and the lower priced seller if this is something you'd like to investigate further.

As for the melee, you would probably need to work with a reputable jeweler (online or brick & mortar) for those.

Thank you!

Would love to receive the links.

P.S. I would like to take a chance and express my gratitude for your assistance. I have looked through other threads prior to joining myself. Primary reason for joining this forum was your thorough and knowledgeable responses to other users' inquires.

Will be looking forward to your reply!

Can you suggest what is the reasoning for such a big difference in pricing ? what do you think about buying straight from the vendor with less expensive price listing? are they reputable? In addition they seem to offer calibrated melee type of a diamond, what are your thoughts on that? One thing I cannot make my mind about is the type of inclusion on the plot. It does not say the naming, but given the symbol it looks more like a crystal. Is this inclusion vast?

I think pretty much all of us have purchased from LooseGrown. They're great! I'm wearing my ring right now. Most of these vendors all grab from the same pool of diamonds, so they can usually get anything you see elsewhere, unless it's from one of the cutters. You'll see a huge variety of markup among them.

The stone is VVS and basically clean. No one will see whatever that itty bitty speck is.

When he posts a stone, you need to grab it asap because there are lurkers who will snatch it up. If you're not ready, then tell him when you are because he won't post a link until you can buy it.

It's a beautiful diamond!

Markup for desired profit margin, most likely.

Heard quite a few good experiences from folks purchasing directly from the less expensive seller.

Not sure about melee outside of playing it safe with Grunberger ideal round melee, so I can't speak to that.

It's a VVS1 - keep in mind that any inclusions at a VS1 or better are going to be in the microscopic realm.
Note: my wife's 2.76 VS2 and 1.69 SI1 are both clean HPHT...no inclusions are visible without magnification. :)

Thank you so much! I have placed an order for the stone you suggested. It says order will be confirmed within 24-48 hours. Hopefully, it will be in the stock and ready to be shipped. I cannot thank you enough for your help!

I have never had an experience of buying diamond online before. Posting the question on this forum turned out to be absolutely wonderful decision thanks to you.
