Hi guys,

I have been told to come to Pricescope for any diamond/jewellery inquires as you are experts and can provide valuable information and advice.

Wanted to ask if anyone could provide some input as to the quality vs price of the following ebay diamond earrings:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-05-ct-14k-White-Gold-Round-Cut-Certified-Diamond-Stud-Earrings-Screw-Back/261297969839?pt=US_Fine_Earrings&hash=item3cd6929aaf

The price seems very good for that "quality" of diamond.

This would be a potential gift for a 1st year anniversary (not married - just together for now but will get married in the future in which case I will be asking for ring advice :) ).

What do you guys think? Is this a good deal or is it another "too good to be true"?

Thank you!!

Marco

I must have posted this in the wrong forum section - is someone able to move this to Rocky Talky?

Hi Marco, welcome to PS. If you hit report concern (above right) and ask for this thread to be moved to Rocky Talky and Ella (the moderator) will move it for you.
I wouldn't buy from this seller. Look at the feedback-not good.

Since you are not in a rush you can sometimes find very nice diamond studs on diamond bistro or loupe troop for a good price.

That's not even close to a deal. Look at these beautifully cut stones of the same size, http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamond_pair_comparisions/compared_diamond_details/BLAGS-104067973032/BLAGS-104068959007.. Then pick out a setting starting at $175, then pay by wire to get that discount. They'll blow away the I-1's on ebay any day of the week, and twice on Sunday!

The following red flags for me, and I would avoid buying from this seller:

* Stock photos being used, and not of actual item listed, and the clarity of the diamonds in the pics are better than I1 I believe
* Too many negative feedbacks in the last 12 months for my liking, and some of the descriptions of the issues rang alarm bells for me
* The certification body is not known to me, therefore, its reliability and competency is questionable for me

DK :))

Thanks guys!

Someone else also mentioned to me that these guys on ebay are self-appraisers and so they greatly embellish their appraisals.

I greatly appreciate your responses.

I am trying to find a pair of diamond stud earrings for my GF as I mentioned.

My budget is about $750 - $1000. Preferably round cut. And my friend mentioned I should get screwbacks?

Any recommendations? ( I realize my budget is not that much).

Thanks!
Marco
