Expert Advice Needed: 3.75 - 4.25 carat from Ritani

Hi all -

First time posting here about lab diamonds as I’ve made the leap from moissanites to them. I thought I found some awesome stones from Ritani, then I started reading these threads and am second guessing myself. Would love some advice on a larger modern round brilliant. Want as close to a 10mm spread or larger and budget is up to $7,000 for the stone.

I’m in a bit of a time crunch bc I have a stone from a local jeweler on hold until next Wed (pics included) - then I saw some stones with similar specs on Ritani for much less.

I’d like to stay colorless or near colorless, completely eye clean and of course great sparkle. Can someone give me advice? I plugged some of the IGI #s into the Holloway Cut Advisor on here and the cut estimator on Diamond Screener and got soooo confused. IGI graded as Ideal, Excellent, Excellent on all - but these two tools didn’t match up to that on the cut plots.

Can anyone provide advice or stone suggestions? The lower the price the better

Yes here it is…for the one you found on Ritani, do you think it would be pretty bright/white at a G? I’ve read that IGI standards are a little more lenient than GIA. GIA is all I’m familiar with. Also, any concern over CVD vs HPHT?

I hesitate to recommend the first or third for a ring. I like the second one a lot. The HCA is important to reject stones whose proportions don't work well together. But any score under 2, or sometimes 2.5, is worth further analysis with video and light return images.

Typically, yes. There are some limitations of the HCA since it can not be fed information about all the various minor facet angles.

For example, a well cut diamond with a 40.8/35.5-36.5/54-57 combo might come back in the low to mid 2 score, but say it also has 45% stars and 80% lowers which will help the combo work beautifully. Normally, we would say that the CA would be slightly too steep, but here lies an exception.
