What does it mean when someone says there diamond is excellent, excellent, excellent???

Could be anything if it is not back up by a lab grading report.

GIA best grade are excellent for cut, polish and symm. So that could be what it meant.

AGS best grade is ideal, excellent being a step down.

Thank you for your quick reply. So for a .90 tcw round diamond, what would be excellent cut, polish and symm??

If the diamond actually has a GIA report, on the report it will say the word "Excellent" cut, "Excellent" polish and "Excellent" symmetry. Three times. If there is no report all bets are off.

If the cut is Excellent, it means that the diamond fits within the parameters set by GIA for that grade.
The Polish referes to smoothness of the surface finish basically. Excellent is the top grade.
The Symmetry refers to matching of the facets with one another and to the overall alignments of the facet pattern. Excellent is the top grade.

Knowing exactly what each of the three means is a complex piece of work that the word "Excellent" makes far simpler.

The grades run Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor, I believe. Below Excellent in cut may make a big difference. Very good in polish or symmetry may not be as visually important, but some tiny detail might be off a bit.

Sorry, do not understand your question.

Do you mean the price? There could be a huge variation depending on the colour and clarity. If the diamond is GIA graded and is EX EX EX or triple ex as these are sometimes called then that means Excellent cut grade, Excellent polish and Excellent symmetry.
